As the group reached the serene riverside, the warm sunlight danced across their faces, casting a sense of excitement and anticipation.
The gentle lapping of the water against the shore created a soothing melody, setting the tone for a peaceful day of fishing.
Aleena, ever the prepared one, rummaged through her bag and produced a bottle of mosquito repellent. She began applying it liberally to her hands, the sweet, pungent aroma wafting through the air.
Nitika, noticing Aleena's actions, walked over to her. "Hey, can I borrow some?" she asked, holding out her hand.
Aleena handed her the bottle, and Nitika began to apply the repellent to her own hands. Karan, observing the exchange, raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"Ab isme lotion lagane wali kya baat hai?" he asked. (What's with applying lotion now?)
Aleena's eyes narrowed, a glare forming on her face.
"Are ye repellent hai lotion nahi, matlb kuch bhi bolne ka," she retorted, her voice firm but playful. (This is repellent, not lotion, meaning don't say just anything.)
Karan chuckled, holding out his hand. "Oh, give it to me also. I don't want to be the only one eaten alive by mosquitoes."
Aleena rolled her eyes, smiling despite herself. "Here, take it," she said, handing him the bottle.
As Karan applied the repellent to his hands, Bella, ever the enthusiastic leader, grinned at her friends. "Guys, ready for fishing?"
The response was immediate, with everyone chiming in with a hearty "Yesss, mam!" - everyone, that is, except Avyaan.
He stood off to the side, his arms crossed and a skeptical look on his face. "I doubt we'll get any fish," he said, his voice dripping with doubt.
The group's excitement was palpable, and Avyaan's negative comment was like a bucket of cold water poured over their enthusiasm. Everyone glared at him, their faces falling.
Karan was the first to speak up, his voice laced with amusement. "Laga di panoti tumne pehle hi," (You've already jinxed it) he said.
Nishanth joined in. "Hana"
Aleena, ever the optimist, jumped to Avyaan's defense - or rather, jumped to defend the fishing trip.
"Don't worry, we'll catch many fishes! You know I'm an expert at everything," she said, her eyes shining with confidence.
Nitika chuckled at Aleena's antics, a smile playing on her lips. "Are you sure?" she teased.
Aleena nodded vigorously, her ponytail bouncing with the motion. "Yes, yes! I'm positive we'll catch fish."
Avyaan stood silently, a small smile playing on his lips. Despite his initial doubts, he couldn't help but be drawn in by the group's infectious enthusiasm. Maybe, just maybe, this fishing trip wouldn't be so bad after all.
"Guys, split up in different corners and cast!" Bella said.
As the group prepared to cast their lines, Karan gazed out at the river, a nostalgic glint in his eye. "I used to go fishing when I was a child," he said, "It feels nostalgic."

RomanceThe jerk's eyes widened in disbelief. "Don't tell me she's our classmate." My eyes mirrored his shock. "Wait, what? He's our classmate?" I asked, my voice laced with disbelief. Aleena nodded. "Yes, he's Avyaan Parekh." I couldn't believe it. "Well...
