I wrote a note where I said I'd gone back to the dorm and just needed to think. And that I'd be back later in the day. And that he could just send me a text.
Tara wasn't there, which was nice, for once.
I'd showered and sat on my bed and then I called Sophia.
"It's fucking early!" she complained.
"I need to talk, do you have time?" I whispered.
Whatever was in my voice, she shifted and "yeah," she said. "What's up?"
I was very interested in what would come out of my mouth when I told her about Olympia and Persephone and Zeus, but all she seemed to gather was that Josh had been an asshole and wanted to play Poe out against himself, and that his brother, Poe's brother that is, had stepped up to help, and that Josh had been punished.
And that, honestly, a guy who'd fight for me, and even had his brothers in to help, seemed like a good guy.
She was unsure why I was so unsure, and if Poe had just been a normal guy, then yes! But he was anything but a normal guy.
And I fell asleep on my bed, and when I woke up, Poe spooned me from behind, and him and Tara were bickering about Greek Gods and some story I didn't bother listen in on.
Tara spotted I was awake first and smiled at me. "Sorry, I let him in, he looked so lost." She said.
"It's okay," I said and patted his hand around me.
And his entire body relaxed a fraction.
Tara sat down before me and looked to Poe. "Don't listen," she warned him.
He huffed but didn't say anything.
"He's told me he's Poseidon," she mock-whispered to me, light eyes alight and weirdly bright. "And he's told me Zeus was in Josh, and that he was the reason Josh was a jerk. And to be aware of that once Josh comes to apologize."
I nodded slowly. "I didn't think you could tell anyone?" I asked Poe behind me.
He nuzzled my hair with his nose. "I asked about, and I could, because you also need someone who knows, now I made it all weird and stuff." He muttered and puckered his lips against the soft skin behind my ear.
I smiled a soft smile. "Thank you." I whispered.
"And we need to meet up, regularly. There are stories I need, you know, the written down ones, to hear more about. He won't tell me about himself and Athena and Athens!"
He tensed up a little, and I couldn't help but snicker.
"Men," I said.
Tara and I giggled, and Poe pulled me flush against his body, so I could feel his man poke into my butt.
"Lunch with me?" Tara asked.
"Yeah," I said.
Poe wriggled his erection against my butt, and I looked back at him, without being able to see him.
"Girl time," I told him.
"Fine," he muttered and climbed over me. He looked down at me when he stood. "Maybe you have time later?" he asked, looking all insecure and unsure.
I nodded. "I'll text." I promised.
He looked briefly at Tara, before he left the room.
"He's so fucking hot," Tara said. "No, I still don't want to sleep with him, or anyone else with a penis, but he's tall and, objectively speaking, hot."
I slowly sat. "I'm unsure of what to do." I admitted.
