I found myself at the beach after class. Not near the water, I just sat in the sand, watching her beauty, feigning to read to actually write an article on her. It was, yeah. It wasn't going super well. I couldn't focus.

I tried to rationalize what had and hadn't happened, but all I could come up with was Poe holding me in his shower, just holding me, while I slowly found some semblance of warmth.

I was also bundled up a tad too much for the weather, but I didn't want to be cold.

A single guy, with his hands in his pockets, walked by closer to the water, seemingly lost in thought. It wasn't Poe, and it wasn't someone I knew, and so he just walked by, and I slowly got to my feet.

I could ponder from now and until the end of the world, and I still wouldn't be able to pinpoint, what had happened, unless I talked to that woman thing ish. And maybe even Poseidon again, although I had a feeling that that wouldn't happen.

I gathered my stuff and went back to the dorm, spend a solid thirty minutes writing a draft, and then went to the drama department to begin on that sequined dress to that show. It was our shared project, and I worked on it while procrastinating.

And that's where Tara found me.

She just stood there, out of nowhere, and yes, I was listening to music in headphones, but I usually had some feeling of what was happening around me.

I moved the headphones so I had one ear free. "Hey," I said.

"Hey," she said. "Uhm, dinner?" she asked me.

I looked at the dress, and she crouched before me before I could turn indecisive.

"Please," she said softly.

"Fine," I said. "Let me just finish these two, so the pattern'll work out for the next one who has to work on this." I muttered and quickly sowed the two sequins unto the dress, and then wrapped it up and turned off the music.

She told me about classes and life, and I could tell something was off even before she sat down at a table just the two of us alone.

"What is it?" I asked her.

She picked at her food and looked back up at me. "You worry me," she said. "You went to Poe's yesterday and was all cool and you were just hanging out, and then, all of a sudden you sleep there, and you come back this morning, and you look like a ghost."

I just couldn't... I mean, Poe found me, and I couldn't even tell him what had happened. So I just looked at my plate, not sure what to say, and then deciding I'd go with the truth, well, a part of it.

"We did hang out, and then we kissed, and I left, because it got a little too intense," I looked at Tara. "And I went to the beach and just dipped my feet, and, I don't know what happened. I went out a little farther, just diving under real quick, and I got up, and then I must've tripped or something, because next thing I know, I'm with Poe, in his bathroom, while he's trying to get me warm." I muttered.

"Did he try anything?" Tara asked me.

I shook my head. "He even lent me clothes to sleep in, some of his. And he's just crazy warm, but I swear, he's done nothing but treat me well." I said and looked back down at my own plate of food.
