It was the day of the 4th round of the chunin exams!
1st Round: Written Exam
2nd Round: Survival Mission
3rd Round: Pre-Eliminaries
4th Round: One vs One Battle

All the important guests had arrived. I knew that Gaara-san and Uchiha would be fighting against each other because that fight is the one most people had been looking forward to. And the Hokage would receive a lot of hate if he didn't match them up together. There were an odd number of candidates for the battle. So, they decided to pick lots and choose one who would advance onto the next fight.

The candidates were: Shino-San, Sasuke, Naruto, Neji, Kankuro, Shikamaru, Gaara-san, Temari-san and Me.

Dosu was unable to participate due to some reason. (He had tried to sneakily attack Gaara during the training month and Gaara killed him.)

I think that I am most likely going to be paired up with Naruto or Temari-san. Most people are exist so Temari-san is a reasonable guess. And Naruto and I are the only ones without clans. So he was a reasonable guess too. I would be happy fighting with either one.

"We will pick someone to automatically advance to the next round!" The exam proctor said. It was a different one. I am sure the last one was Hayate-san, I think. "Oh, and I will be the proctor from now on! I am Shiranui Genma." The proctor said. I guess I am good at memorising people and their names. It's a good skill to have.

Well, the matches had been decided. The one who got to advance was surprisingly me. Temari-san was going against Shikamaru-san, Neji against Naruto, Sasuke against Gaara-san, and Shino-san against Kankuro. I don't know if I'm lucky or unlucky. After watching Shikamaru-san and Temari-san fight, I realised that these battles were to show off your skills, intelligence, wisdom and strength. I felt a bit unhappy that I won't get much of a chance to show off my skills since I would be participating in one less round than the others. I just kept my hopes up that I would get to fight against someone strong next round. I was hoping for Temari-san.

Kankuro just forfeited that match without even fighting. What's going on? He wasn't injured or tired based on his posture and walking. I saw some Suna shinobi exchanging looks as they announced that it was time for Gaara-san and Sasuke's match. I was pretty sure that Kakashi's habit of being late was rubbing off on Sasuke.

I was proven right when they arrived just before the match was called off. It made me slightly irritated that they arrived late just to look cool. I guess Sasuke and Kakashi would be a good team since they both are emo and lone heirs to clans. The Hatake clan wasn't exactly famous except for the white fang or Kakashi the copy ninja. However, they were one of the founding clans and owned a lot of land. I'm sure that Kakashi doesn't even manage the land.
