It's wild how quickly things can change when you're finally doing what you love, surrounded by people who truly get you.
Like, really get you.
I look across the kitchen counter, and there's Marriel, standing in the doorway with her coffee, smiling at me like I'm the best thing in the world.
Shes mine.
I'm hers.
She asked me to be her girlfriend about 3 months after Karri left..
*WROTE FROM MARRI'S POV*
The sun is starting to dip, casting a golden light over the beach.
It's a perfect late summer evening, with the air still warm but cooling down, the kind of night that makes you feel like everything's possible.
I lead Leanna by the hand, and she's looking at me, eyebrows raised, curiosity lighting up her eyes.
"Where are we going, Marri?"
"Patience, baby," I tease, squeezing her hand. "We're almost there."
I guide her to the little beachside setup I've arranged, fairy lights strung between poles, a blanket laid out with pillows, candles flickering, and a small table set with two wine glasses. The sound of the waves crashing on the shore fills the air, and the evening breeze feels like something out of a dream.
I had Frank Ocean playing lowly In the background.
You could say that it was magical.
She stands there for a moment, blinking in surprise. "Marri..." Her voice is soft, but her eyes are full of that warm affection she always gives me. "This is... beautiful."
I nod, feeling my heart beat faster in my chest. "It's for you. I just wanted to show you something."
Leanna looks at me, her lips parted, her gaze softening as she steps closer. "You didn't have to do all this. But... it means everything."
I smile at her, feeling the weight of the moment settle over us. This isn't just about candles and wine and beach views.
It's about showing her how much I truly care.
How much I'm ready to promise her, and her alone, all the love I have to give.
I sit down on the blanket and pull her gently beside me. As soon as she's seated, I take her hand in mine, turning her palm up and tracing small circles on her skin, my eyes never leaving hers.
