Bursting into their discussion, Rex straightened his shoulders as he reported, "We've picked up their signal."
Kenobi nodded, "Good, Captain." Gesturing for him to lead, Obi-Wan and Anakin followed the 501st captain to the control room. Nodding to his own commander, Obi-Wan glanced at the blue holo-message, "What is it?"
"We're decrypting the audio now, Sir."
The sickly-smooth voice of Dooku's apprentice flooded the room, "The clone planet of Kamino will be a dangerous target."
Rex attempted to hide his sneer as he looked at her, his grip on his helmet tightening. Though, not quite for the reasons his Jedi Generals believed. The Captain's jaw clicked, his gaze piercing upon the apprentice.
He only thought of Sonder, however. The deep, harsh purple bruise the apprentice gave her all that time ago: for merely doing what she deemed to be right. The punishment she endured just because she wanted to save one of his own.
'Even if he was a traitor, in the end.'
The touch of her skin against his forever lingered in the depths of his mind. Every single instance, every gentle moment with her: it was perfectly etched into his mind; the assassin had marred her memory into his very being. Far deeper, and far sharper; than any wound she could scar into him.
Even now, as Rex's gaze locked on the projection of Dooku's apprentice with a piercing intensity, his emotions burned with her name beneath his stoic demeanor.
