NEXT DAY

Everyone was still feeling sad. The police had arrested Manjari and Aditya, but the family wanted to ensure they received the harshest punishment. A case was filed against them, which Samaira was handling as their lawyer.

Meanwhile, Karan had asked Lavanya to meet him, and she, filled with excitement, arrived at the spot he had mentioned.

Lavanya saw Karan standing there, looking lost in thought. She walked up to him and softly said, "Umm... Karan?"

Karan turned to look at her and said, "Oh, you're here."

Lavanya smiled slightly. "You called me. Why wouldn't I come?"

Karan sighed deeply, hesitating for a moment before saying, "Lavanya, I need to talk to you about something important."

Lavanya nodded, her heart beating faster. "Go on. What is it?"

Taking a deep breath, Karan began, "Look... after this case is over, I've decided to leave this place. For good."

Lavanya's heart sank, but she forced a brave face. "What? But why? Is it because of everything that's happened?"

Karan shook his head. "It's not just that. I've been thinking about this for a while. And there's something else, Lavanya... I need to tell you the truth."

Lavanya looked at him, her uneasiness growing. "What truth, Karan? You're scaring me."

Karan exhaled, his voice soft yet firm. "Lavanya, I can't accept your proposal."

She froze for a moment, her emotions swirling inside her. "But... why? Is it because you're leaving? Don't worry, Karan. Wherever you go, I'm ready to come with you."

Karan gave her a sad smile, shaking his head. "It's not about that, Lavanya. The truth is... I don't feel the same way about you as you feel about me. And I don't think I ever will."

Lavanya's face fell, but she kept her composure. "But... why? What's stopping you?"

Karan's voice grew heavy. "Because my heart has always belonged to someone else. I've only ever loved Akshara. And after everything that happened last night... it's clear to everyone, including me, that my feelings haven't changed."

Lavanya looked away, trying to mask her pain. "But Karan, people move on. I'm not asking for all of your heart right now. I'm willing to wait for you to heal."

Karan shook his head again. "That's exactly why I can't let this happen, Lavanya. I don't want to give you false hope or drag you into something that will only hurt you more in the future. I don't want to do to you what Manjari Birla did to herself and others-living in denial and holding onto things that weren't meant to be. I can't let my unrequited love for Akshara ruin your happiness. You deserve someone who can love you wholeheartedly, and I'm not that person."

Lavanya's eyes brimmed with tears, but she nodded slowly, trying to understand. "You're really leaving, aren't you?"

Karan nodded. "Yes. And it's best if you forget about me, Lavanya. Move on. Find someone who can give you the love you deserve. I'm sorry if I've hurt you."

With that, Karan turned and walked away, leaving Lavanya standing there, frozen in shock.

After a few moments, her legs gave out, and she sat on the nearby bench, her tears finally spilling over.

"How foolish was I," she whispered to herself. "I knew he loved someone else, yet I let myself hope... I let myself believe."

Her quiet sobs echoed around her as she sat there, trying to process her broken heart and the pain of losing someone she never really had.
