Someone New

Adam's POV

I'm finally home. Spending time with my family is something that I've longed for, for quite a while now. I know that coming back here is risky, but I'll take my chances.

"Daddy come here!" I followed Caitlyn's voice into the kitchen.

"I made you breakfast daddy!" I smiled and sat at the table.

"Is that so baby girl? Let's see what we have here." She placed before me Mickey Mouse pancakes, green eggs, and a long plate of strawberries that spelled out "I love you dad."

"Thanks Caitlyn give papa a hug." She ran over to me and I picked her up and sat her on my lap. I looked at the green eggs and then back at her.

"Umm baby girl why are my eggs green?"

"It's just like the green eggs from the Dr. Seuss book. This is my favorite kind and I thought that you'd like it too. I only put in green food coloring, so it's safe to eat. See." She picked up a fork full of eggs and ate it. I stared at them some more before giving in and trying them. 

"Not bad love bug." I tickled her and she squirmed in my arms.

Carly's POV

"Do you think that dad is over mom yet?"

"Of course not Carly. Why would you even ask such a thing?" I sighed and leaned back in the chair. I was in Cam's room watching him as he organized some stuff.

"Well it's because..." I paused for a bit and looked down.

"No! I know what you are thinking. We cannot do that to our father and I refuse to let you go through with your crazy idea!"

"C'mon Cam he can't be lonely forever!"

"He's not lonely, he has us."

"Yeah but-

"Don't but me Carly only I can but people."

"Listen Cam. You're gonna get married to Aud and then move out. Soon enough, the same thing will happen to me and then Cay and Caitlyn will be left alone to grow up with only a father. They both need a mother figure in their lives, Cam. Especially Caitlyn. She doesn't even know what it's like to have a mom."

"Neither do I but I think I turned out to be just fine." I turned to Aud who was suppose to be sleeping.

"You do know what it's like to have a mom, Aud. She may not have been the best one, but at least she tried." I looked over at her and she shrugged her shoulders and rolled over.

"So, like I was saying Cam. He needs a woman! Just listen to my plan okay?"

"I don't know about this Carly but I'll listen."

"Great, so I tell him that I want to spend the day with him. All the while we're out, I'll give him little hints like "Oh she's a nice looking lady." or "Oooo look at that woman's watch you should ask her where she got it." You know Cam. Something like that."

"Your plan sucks."

"It does not!"

"Yes it does. And I feel bad for our poor father. Bringing you and that mind of yours into this world was probably the worst descision he ever made."

I looked at Cam and my eyes started to water. I know we joke around with each other or whatever but that hit me hard. When my mom was pregnant with me, she thought that my dad didn't want me. And he did, it was just that he was super busy at the time. My mom tried falling down the stairs and starving herself. Luckily she got back on track with the help of my father and I turned out to be just fine. It was then in that moment that I realized that my mother have always had a crazy side to her.
