Alexander's POV

"Adam stop! You can't just pack up and leave whenever something goes wrong!"

"I'm doing this for my family's safety Alexander! Ever since I got back, bad things started happening again and I will not just sit around and watch us all die one by one."

"What is your problem Adam? Your oldest boy is getting married and you won't be there to support him. Oh and let me not forget about Cayson's school play that you promised to attend. Caitlyn barely knows what it's like to have a real dad and now that she's got one, he's leaving. Is that really the impression that you want to give her about father's? And what about Carly? She's in the hospital and when she wakes up, someone has to explain to her that her father is gone again. She's gonna-

"Just stop Alex now! I'm leaving and no one is stopping me. It's your responsibility now to-

"No Adam. The responsibility is yours and it has been since the day you brought your first child home. I'll do your dirty work this time Adam only because I have great respect for you. But just know that Theodore and his "men" aren't the ones who's tearing your family apart, Adam. You are."

Carly's POV

That familiar beeping sound filled my ears. I find myself in this place wayyyy too much and it's really starting to bother me. I opened my eyes and blinked a couple of times. To my left, I could see Cameron in the corner with tear stained face.

Turning over, I came face to face with Alex. His eyes were red and his hair was messy. I started to sit up but he stopped me.

"Wha-

"Shhh. Lay back down okay? I have to tell you something.

I lied back down and my mind immediately thought about my brother and sister.

"Cay and Caitlyn?"

"Their fine. Aud has them." He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.

"You know that I love you Carly. Right?"

I slowly nodded my head.

"And you know that no matter what I'll always be here for you. And I promise this time that I'm not going anywhere a-

"Alex. Just get to the point already." He sighed heavily again and ran his fingers through his hair a couple more times. Tears began to stream down his face. Right then, I knew that what he had to say was going to hurt me but he didn't want to say it because of that reason.

But I'd rather be hurt than left in the dark.

"It's okay Al-

"No it's not Carly! Even if I wanted it to be, it's not!"

"Alexander wait-

Before I could stop him, it was too late. He walked over to the far wall and punched it through. He leaned his forehead against it and I took that moment to calculate the cost of fixing the new big hole.

His breathing became heavier and that's when I decided to calm him down. I walked over to where he was standing and placed my hand on his shoulder.

"I didn't mean to yell at you."

"It's fine."

He turned around and looked down.

"Your dad. That crazy old man. He loves you as well Carly but he- he-had

I put my hand up silencing him. I already knew the next words that were coming out of his mouth and I wasn't physically nor mentally strong enough to hear and handle them.
