"Jasmine?" I hear taylor ask. I lift my head from my hands, tears streaming down my face. Taylor, Jessica, Conrad, and Blaise stand there, watching me. When did they come up the stairs? "Are you okay? We heard noises so we came to check on you." She says softly. I look at her, tears in my eyes, and shake my head. "I...I can't do it. I just can't." I bawl. The banging on the door becomes louder. "What's in the room, jasmine?" Conrad asks softly. "A little girl. " I mutter, wiping my eyes. His eyes widen. "Let her out! Why is she in there?!" He panics, rushing towards me and the door. I stop him. "She's...she's infected." I say as more tears pour out. Taylor gives me a look of sympathy and asks, "how old is she?" I hold 7 fingers up, too disoriented to speak. Understanding shows in her eyes and she rushes to me, hugging me. She helps me up and whispers something to Conrad. He nods and Taylor leads me downstairs, sitting me on the couch. "Its okay, jasmine. " she whispers. A gun shot rings through the house and I flinch. I throw myself into Taylors arms and cry for my young brothers. Before she can say something, a scream is heard from outside. Conrad, Jessica, and Blaise run downstairs. I look up and wipe my eyes. "That was Harley!" Jessica panics. We run out the back door and look around. Beth runs around the house, panic in her eyes. "What happened?!" She shouts. We shake our head and run to the boat garage. We look in there and no one is seen. "Harley!?" I yell. No response. We run around the house, yelling her name. "Harley!?" We scream. Silence. She's gone. "Where could she have gone?" Beth cries. Taylor looks at us sadly. "Lets look around the woods, we'll meet back up in ten minutes." She says solemnly. We all nod and head In different directions, yelling her name.

Ten minutes later, we're all sitting on the front porch quietly. "We have to find her." Beth mutters, desperation in her voice. "She can't be far," Taylor says. "Its late though. We need sleep. Tomorrow we'll make a plan of action and send out a search team." She tells us. Beth is about to protest but Taylor gives her a firm look. She nods sadly and heads inside, all of us following. We decided that the left side rooms would be mine, Harley's, and Beth's. The right side, Jessica, Conrad and Blaise, and Taylor. Taylor, of course, got the master bedroom. We cleaned up and set our things. Later that night, everyone was sleeping except for me. I kept thinking about that little girl. She was the same age as zach and Josh. They had the same fate. And now, they're all dead. They didn't even get to live life. My family were all sure zach was gonna be gay. I smile at the memory of him painting my nails and asking if he could put makeup on me. I remember josh looking at him weird and saying, "mimi, only girls do makeup." My eyes watered at the thought of Joshua's nickname for his fraternal twin. They both called me 'Nini'. Joshua was autistic and had an obsession with soldiers. Which he called 'teammates'. I wish they were here. My thoughts were interrupted by a quiet knock on my door, almost a tap. "Come in." I say quietly. The door pushes open and Taylor steps in. "Hey." She says nervously as she shuts the door. "Hey, is everything okay?" I ask with worry in my voice. She shakes her head. "No, not really." She whispers back. I sit up and scoot to the edge of my bed, patting the spot next to me. She tiptoes over and sits next to me on the bed. "What's wrong, Taylor?" I ask. She sighs and looks down. "I...I just, I don't know." She says in defeat. "I feel like I'm making all the wrong decisions. What if coming here was a bad idea? Harley's gone now and she might never be back." She tells me, sadness in her voice. I scoot closer and put my arm around her for comfort. "Taylor, you're our leader. We follow your decisions and rules as if it were the bible and we were a bunch of bible thumpers." I say. She laughs quietly and nods. "And yes, you may make mistakes and wrong decisions sometimes but, everyone does. No ones perfect, even though I think you are." I chuckle at her. She smiles and looks at me. "Thank you, jasmine." She says with a sad smile. "Anytime, Taylor. I'm always here for you." I tell her, wrapping my arms around her and hugging her. She holds on tightly and then pulls away, "I guess ill go to bed now." She says. I nod, "good night Taylor." I say. She walks towards the door but I stop her. "Taylor?" I say. She turns around and raises her brow at me. "Yeah?" She asks. I smile at her, "we'll find Harley. I know it." She smiles back and walks out, closing the door behind her quietly.
