"Gotham City, Wayne Manor"
You sat in your tub staring aimlessly at the red tinted water. You made no effort to move, didn't even flinch when you heard the knock on the bathroom door.
"Miss Wayne, Master Bruce has sent me up to fetch you. He means to speak with you."
You do not respond however, your eyes still locked onto the unmoving water. You heard the older man sigh from the other side of the door, "She's still not coming out?" You heard your Auntie's voice.
You bring your knees to your chest; resting your head on top of them. Again a gentle knock, "Y/n, I'm going to come in. Is that okay?" It was like your mind didn't register what she had said. Jackie hesitantly opened the door, her heart broke seeing the state you were in.
She kneels down next to the tub, "We need to check your shoulder, see if the bullet went all the way through or not." You blink a few times before you turned your head to look at her.
"Can I come home?" Jackie felt her own tears threaten to fall. She quickly nods her head and slowly snakes her arms around you. Encasing you in a firm hug.
You lean into her hold, your head resting on her shoulder. You quietly sobbed as you felt her hands rub your arm. After a few more seconds she pulls away, bringing her hands to cup your face.
"Let's go talk with Bruce and then we can arrange for you to come home okay?" You slowly nodded "I love you auntie." It was hard for you to speak since your throat was so horse from crying. "I love you too baby." She plants a chaste kiss on your forehead before she stands.
"I set some clothes on your bed, I'll be waiting outside your door." With that she exits the bathroom and you were left with your own thoughts.
______
After you had gotten out the tub you dry yourself off and put on the clothes Jackie left you.
You put your bonnet on and your slippers, now feeling ready you step out of your room.
Like Jackie said she patiently waited outside your door. "Come on." She takes your hand gently and starts to lead you around the manor.
She comes up the large grandfather clock, with her free hand she moves the clock hands. Once they were at the right time the clock moved revealing a set of stairs.
You would be in surprise if you weren't already in shock from the nights previous events.
Once the two of you reach the bottom of the stairs you're met with a large door with a keypad. Jackie puts the code in and the door soon slides open, revealing a massive room filled with high tech computers and gadgets.
At the largest computer in the center of the room stood Bruce, the four other Wayne's, and Jaime. All were in their own depressive states. Bruce typed feverishly at his keyboard, as both Tim and Dick paced back and fourth. Jason repeatedly cracked his knuckles, while Jaime quietly spoke to himself.
Lastly, Damian had his arms crossed; his body leaning against the large body of the computer.
As the large door closed behind you it caught the attention of everyone. "Oh thank god." Dick immediately scurried towards you engulfing you in a hug.
"We thought you were never going to leave your room." He dramatically states, you on the other hand let the it a painful hiss as his hold on you caused him to touch your wound.
"Oh sorry." He quickly pulls away, but his arms were replaced with another pair. Tim was mindful not to hug you too tightly, "I'm so sorry, I was supposed to protect you." His nose was red and his eyes puffy as though he had been crying. Grab his hands and give them a reassuring squeeze.
Bruce made his way over to you, but you couldn't bring yourself to look at him; you hang your head low.
Bruce noticing your body language crouched down in front of you—trying to get a better look at your face.
He gently takes your hands rubbing your smooth knuckles with her sandpaper like hands.
"I'm sorry I didn't get you out of there in time, and that your friend got hurt." "I love you, and I'm sorry that I failed you again." You finally give yourself the courage to look at him, his eyes held so much regret.
So you crouch to meet his level and wrap your arms around him. "I love you too dad." It was the first time you've ever called him anything other than Bruce.
His large arms give you a good squeeze which hurts, but you don't say anything for his sake.
After a while he starts to stand which makes you follow his action. He distances himself, "Let Jason check your shoulder." You nod as he leads you to a small operating table of sorts. You hop onto the table and Jason puts on a pair of gloves.
He doesn't say anything to you the entire time he examined your bullet wound. He turns to Bruce and lets out a sigh, "It went all the way through, I'll clean it and wrap it she should be good after." Bruce gives Jason the okay to continue, as Jackie comes up to you both.
"Me and Bruce are going to go and have a chat, come get me if you need me." With that she and Bruce make their way somewhere in the distance.
Jason takes his time in cleaning your wound, making sure that there was no chance of an infection. "You scared the shit out of all of us you know?" He says as he grabs the classic beige badges.
"I'm sorry." You gruffly spoke. He tightly wraps the bandage's around your shoulder, "You have nothing to apologize for."
"Tim told me what you did, how you threatened to shoot the Joker." You look away the memories from the past couple of hours soon rushing through your mind.
"I was just acting off impluse. I wasn't really going to pull the trigger." Jason hums as he takes off his gloves and tosses them in a near by trash can. "I get how you're feeling, when I told you that I died. It was the Joker who killed me." Out of everything that has been revealed to you this information shocked you the most.
"So believe me when I tell you that I know what you're going through right now. You are far from alone in this, I got you. Always." His eyes glossed over as he spoke, but he refused to see him cry--wanting to remain strong for your sake.
He excuses himself as he notices Bruce wave him over, leaving you alone to your own thoughts.
Noticing you were now alone Jaime feels its now the best time to confront you. "Hey." His voice held a certain edge to it. Looking up at him you give him a small tired smile. "Hey." The tension was apparent.
"I know you probably have a lot of questions--." His sentence trails off when you hop from the table. Now standing in front of him you hesitantly wrap your arms around his torso.
He immediately brings you closer to him in a firm embrace as he lays his head on top of yours.
"I am so tired."
Not read through.
