027 into the upside down
It was dark by the time the group seemed to be making it somewhere, journeying on foot to try and make sure they couldn't be found. It had been Nancy's idea to leave the car behind for the time being, and as they all sprinted behind Dustin wherever he ran Eden was wishing they just drove.
"Somethings happening." Dustin smiled, looking up before running again. "Dustin? Can you slow down? Dustin?" Eddie questioned, trying to get the boys attention.
"I think we're getting close." He just yelled out, looking behind at everyone following him. "This kid is so lucky he's holding the compass right now." Beck spoke quietly to Eddie, the boy nodding in agreement.
"Watch your step, big guy." Eddie spoke, suddenly grabbing the back of Dustin's bag and stopping him from walking right into the body of water in front of them.
"Oh, man." Steve sighed, looking at what was now in front of them. "You gotta be shitting me."
"Yeah. I thought these woods were familiar." Eddie frowned. "Lover's Lake." Robin breathed out, confirming the location they once again found themselves at.
"This is confounding." Dustin almost whispered, clearly enjoying this. "There's a gate in Lover's Lake?" Max frowned, just as confused as everyone else.
"Whenever the Demogorgon attacked, it always left an opening. Maybe Vecna's the same way." Nancy realized, looking at everyone. "Yeah, only one way to find out." Steve frowned.
"I know where we can get a boat." Eddie replied, turning around and walking off. Everyone quickly followed, all of them staying close to each other until Eddie stopped, throwing a large tarp off of a smaller metal boat.
Eden watched nervously as Steve and Eddie lifted the boat into the water. "Easy. I... I said easy, man." Steve frowned, sending Eddie a look. "Sorry, man." Eddie shrugged.
"Here you go. Yeah, I'm just gonna do that." Robin spoke, putting a foot into the boat as she used both boys heads as a way to balance herself. "Thank you."
"Yeah, that works too." Steve grumbled, Eddie following Robin in.
"I think I'm gonna stick to the land, actually. I don't do large bodies of water." Beck decided, taking a step back. "No worries." Eden replied, sending the girl a small smile. She didn't have much fear, being very confident in her swimming abilities. But not everyone was like that.
Eden followed behind Nancy into the boat, Eddie grabbing the blondes hand to help her in once he'd let go of Nancy, Steve holding the boat steady for them. "Your majesty." Eddie joked, sending Eden a small smile.
