Eden was nervous as she waited at the play structure, waiting for Erica to let the older teens know Lucas and Max were ready. It was taking some time, and that was worrying Eden that something was wrong.
She was able to breathe a sigh of relief, though, when she suddenly heart Erica's voice. "Okay, the lovebirds have copied. Max is moving into phase two: distracting Vecna."
"So far, so smooth." Robin spoke up, looking around the group. Eden quietly knocked on the wood paneling of the play structure, figuring it was better safe than sorry.
"Yeah, we're not even at the hard part yet." Steve replied, looking around. Eden bit down on the inside of her cheek, fidgeting with her flashlight. The music was still playing in her ears so she knew she was safe, but all she could do was hope that Max would be okay.
"Take the bait, you son of a bitch." Nancy spoke quietly, staring toward the Creel house, which was still surrounded by those bats. "Take the bait."
"Okay, she's in. Initiate phase three." Erica spoke, cluing the older teens in. Eden gasped lightly, heart-rate picking up. "Hey, hey. It's okay. She's gonna be okay." Steve promised, grabbing Eden's hand in his own. She just nodded, trying her best to believe him. "Yeah."
"She's in. Move on to phase three." Robin spoke into the walkie, letting Dustin and Eddie know what step of the plan they were at. "Copy that. Initiating phase three." Dustin replied.
Eden soon began hearing Metallica from far off, feeling like some of the weight was flying off of her shoulders as she watched the bats all fly away, heading toward the sound. It was really working.
"Okay, it's working. Let's go." Nancy decided, leading the other three toward the Creel house. They all followed silently, getting inside the building without issue, all continuing to b-line for the staircase to get upstairs to Vecna.
Once at the staircase, Eden quickly realized it would be the challenge of not touching the vines, following cautiously behind Steve as he took the lead, watching her every step and hand placement as she made her way up the stairs. Robin and Nancy followed behind, doing the same as the group all moved.
When Steve got to the top of the stairs he turned around, offering his hand to Eden on instinct, helping her with the final large jump up next to him. She squeezed his hand lightly, turning around and helping Robin the same way. "Easy." Steve whispered.
Robin and Eden helped steady Nancy, everyone looking around for a moment as Steve pulled out Nancy's gun, handing it to the girl. Eden reached behind herself and pulled her axe from her bag, avoiding the sharp part as Steve did the same.
Once they were all ready they moved to take a step forward, only for the ground to suddenly begin shaking. Steve grabbed Eden, holding an arm above her head as Nancy grabbed her arm, Robin doing the same but to Steve as they all tried to wait out the shaking.
