Chapter Twenty - Four

"Thanks for coming," Carlton said nervously chuckling as Lisa and Alexandria both sat on the couch.

"Figured we'd just come by with our dad."

"What'd you want to show us?" Alexandria asked.

"Um, okay, so it is me and Amira's three-month anniversary, and...I got her..." Carlton nervously said as he grabbed the gift and moved over to the coach to show the girls, "This."

"What do you think?" Carlton asked as he showed them the Cartier necklace.

Alexandria chuckled nervously causing Carlton to notice, "What? Is... is... is it too much, not enough?"

"I mean... do you think you might be moving a little fast?" Alexandria asked making Carlton snap the closed and place it on the coffee table angrily.

"I just want everyone to stop worrying about our relationship and just support us for once." Carlton snapped.

"You know we do," Lisa said trying to make Carlton relax.

"Okay, well, I thought you two and Amira were friends." Carlton pointed out, standing up from the couch, "So what is it?"

"We just want what's best for you," Alexandria told him.

"Then act like it. You two of all people know how hard relationships have been for me. When was the last time you've seen me this happy, Lis?" Carlton said looking to Lisa and then to Alexandria, "Lex?"

"You're right," Lisa said as she and Alexandria sighed.

Alexandria picked up the box and opened it giving it another look before standing up and saying, "And it is beautiful. She's gonna love it." Alexandria said smiling at him and handing him the box.

"Yeah. I think she will." Carlton said closing the box and smiling at the sisters.

"Lex, can I talk to you real quick?" Carlton asked, and Lisa walked over to the piano so that the two could talk.

"Yeah." Alexandria sitting back down on the couch, "What's up?"

"Uh... I had a conversation with Will." Carlton said making Alexandria tilt her head and making him continue, "he told me that you told him what happened between us and he checked me for the way I disrespected you."

"As he should, I felt like he needed to know since you made it seem like it was consensual Carlton." Alexandria said making Carlton look down, "Uh uh look at me." Carlton looked at her.

"I know that's right," Lisa said from her spot at the piano.

"I'm sorry that I dismissed your feelings, Lex we've known each other since we were kids, I'm sorry that I didn't check Conner fast enough for what he did to you it wasn't right and you have the right to how you feel."

"It shouldn't have happened Carlton. I blame you just as much as I blame Conner." Alexandria told him just as their father walked into the room.

"Alexandria, Lisa." Their father called getting their attention.
