Sophie Foster POV
"So... where exactly is this ghost?" asked Keefe as we walked through the halls of Hogwarts, under an invisibility spell.
"Harry found her in this corridor," I said. "I just hope we're in the right place,"
"Yeah, because this corridor is creepy," said Linh.
We all had picked her up from the healing center when she claimed that her head was fine and that she could come along with us. But Tam had to always walk behind her to catch her if she faltered in her step and fell.
Keefe and I were in the front trying to find Di in the sprawling castle. Whereas, Glimmer was just behind Tam and Linh, keeping her arms crossed, and hood almost all the way down.
Maybe Glimmer should've stayed with Harry and the others and looked for clues. I thought.
But then, as we turned a corner, I saw her.
Di was floating around, and muttering to herself just a few feet off the ground.
"Di!" I called. "It's Sophie,"
Di turned to us. "Oh," she said. "It's you guys. What can I do for you?"
"We need you to take us to....to Vladimir," I said awkwardly.
"I'm afraid I don't know who that is," she said.
"Uh.... then where do you think a very old and powerful wizard's base would be in this castle?" asked Keefe.
"Well," said Di thoughtfully, "I do know a place that looks super secretive and deserted," She floated around getting a glassy look in her eyes, as if she was uncovering a lost memory. "That may be where this.. Vladimir is,"
"Uhhh," I said. I glanced at my friends. "Sure, then. Lead the way Di,"
"Okay then," she said. She got that glassy look in her again, and floated off.
"How are you sure we can trust some ghost?" asked Glimmer.
"Because," I said, fumbling to find a reasonable response, "I feel like she would know. She died a long time ago and she's been exploring Hogwarts ever since. So she probably knows where Vladimir would be."
Glimmer snorted. "Okay then," she rolled her eyes. "Your choice."
We followed Di for a while, as Keefe pointed out and commented about different paintings, statues and suits of armour around the castle. Although Keefe's comments were highly amusing, the mood of finding Vladimir was too serious for me to laugh at them.
But after a few minutes, Di stopped at a door. It was big with ornate designs on it and two eagle gargoyles on either side.
"I feel like this is the place," she said.
"Okay," I said. I reached out and touched the door. It felt like magic pulsed through it. But even if it looked suspicious, I felt too, like it was the right place. "I think so too. I can feel the magic in this place,"
"Let's go then," said Tam. "Let's find Vladimir."
I turned to Di. "Can you go and check on my other friends?"
"Sure," she said.
But after she left, I just exchanged glances with my friends.
"Well," said Glimmer. "Open the door,"
I sighed, and pushed the door open, expecting us to be suddenly attacked by a monster of some sort.
But nothing happened.
