ABUJA, NIGERIA
The warm sunlight streaming through the windows of Sa'eed and Hauwa's luxurious living room cast a golden glow on the two figures sitting on the plush couch. Hauwa and Sa'eed sat together, their hands intertwined, their faces radiant with happiness. The tension and angst that had filled the air for so long had finally dissipated, replaced by a sense of peace and tranquility.
Hauwa leaned her head on Sa'eed's shoulder, feeling a deep sense of contentment wash over her. She had been so blind, so stubborn, refusing to listen to Sa'eed's explanations, refusing to trust him. But now, as she looked back on those tumultuous days, she realized that she had been wrong, so wrong.
"Sa'eed," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
"Yes, Mi Reina?" he replied, his voice low and soothing.
"Kayi hakuri; I'm so sorry," Hauwa said, her voice cracking with emotion. "I'm sorry for not listening to you, for not trusting you."
Sa'eed's arms tightened around her, holding her close. "It's okay, Hauwa," he said, his voice filled with understanding. "I would have done the same if I were you. You were hurt, and you didn't know what to do."
Hauwa nodded, feeling a wave of relief wash over her. She had been carrying around the weight of her guilt for so long, and it felt good to finally let it go.
"I was so blind," she said, her voice filled with regret. "I didn't see what was right in front of me."
Sa'eed chuckled, his chest vibrating with laughter. "We both were," he said. "We both made mistakes, but we've learned from them."
Hauwa nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Sa'eed. He was right; they had both made mistakes, but they had learned from them. And now, they could move forward together.
As they sat there, wrapped in each other's arms, Hauwa felt a deep sense of peace settle over her. She knew that she and Sa'eed still had challenges ahead of them, but she was ready to face them, as long as they were together.
The silence between them was comfortable, a testament to the deep connection they shared. They didn't need to fill the air with words; they could just be, together.
After a while, Sa'eed spoke up, his voice low and husky. "I have something for you," he said, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
Hauwa's curiosity was piqued. "What is it?" she asked, her voice filled with anticipation.
Sa'eed smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Come and see," he said, standing up and pulling her to her feet.
Hauwa followed him, her heart pounding with excitement. What could Sa'eed have in store for her? She had no idea, but she was eager to find out.
As they walked through the house, Hauwa couldn't help but feel a sense of joy. She was happy, truly happy, for the first time in weeks. And it was all thanks to Sa'eed, the man who had captured her heart.
They finally reached the backyard, and Hauwa's eyes widened in surprise. The entire area was filled with candles, their soft glow illuminating the night air. And in the center of it all was a beautiful, ornate gazebo, adorned with flowers and greenery.
Hauwa gasped, her hand flying to her mouth. "Sa'eed, it's beautiful," she exclaimed, her eyes shining with tears.
Sa'eed smiled, his eyes filled with love. "I'm glad you like it," he said, taking her hand and leading her to the gazebo. "I wanted to create a special moment for us, a moment to remember."
Hauwa's heart swelled with emotion as she looked at Sa'eed. He was always doing things like this, surprising her with his thoughtfulness and romance. And she loved him for it, loved him more and more with each passing day.
