MAKKAH, SAUDI ARABIA
A MONTH LATER
The storm had finally passed, leaving behind a sense of peace and tranquility that had been elusive for so long. It had been a month since the drama had unfolded, and Hauwa was doing remarkably well. She had returned to her matrimonial home, and for once, there was a sense of calm and serenity in their marriage.
The wheels of justice had turned, and Hauwa's biological mother had finally received the justice she deserved. Bilal, the man who had molested and killed her, had been sentenced to life imprisonment. The Maigoro family's wealth and influence had been no match for the Mato family's determination to see justice served.
Safar, the mastermind behind the plot, had been given an eight-year prison sentence, thanks in part to Hauwa's forgiveness. It was a testament to Hauwa's strength and character that she had chosen to forgive, even in the face of such betrayal.
As for Hauwa and Sa'eed, they had spent the past two weeks in the holy city of Saudi Arabia, basking in the peace and tranquility that pervaded the land. For Hauwa, it was her first time in the holy country, and she had been struck by the sense of calm and serenity that seemed to envelop her very being.
There was something about the holy city that seemed to wash away all her worries and troubles, leaving her feeling light and free. Maybe it was the knowledge that she was walking in the footsteps of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), or maybe it was the sense of community and brotherhood that seemed to permeate every aspect of life in the holy city.
Whatever it was, Hauwa felt a deep sense of peace and happiness that she had never experienced before. She felt like she had finally found a sense of belonging, like she was finally home.
As she walked alongside Sa'eed, taking in the sights and sounds of the holy city, Hauwa felt a sense of gratitude and appreciation for this man who had stood by her through thick and thin. She knew that she didn't deserve him, but she was grateful nonetheless.
Sa'eed, sensing her gaze, turned to her and smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "What's on your mind, Mi Reina?" he asked, his voice low and gentle.
Hauwa's heart skipped a beat as she looked at him, feeling a sense of love and adoration that she had never felt before. "I'm just grateful," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Grateful for you, for us, for this life we're building together."
Sa'eed's smile deepened, his eyes shining with love and adoration. "I'm grateful too," he said, taking her hand in his. "Grateful for every moment we spend together, for every breath we take."
As they walked on, hand in hand, Hauwa felt a sense of peace and happiness that she had never known before. She knew that life would always have its ups and downs, but with Sa'eed by her side, she felt like she could face anything.
She was ready to face whatever life threw their way, as long as she had Sa'eed by her side.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm orange glow over the holy city, Hauwa and Sa'eed made their way back to their hotel penthouse. They had spent the day performing their Ibadah, and now they were looking forward to unwinding and relaxing together.
As they settled into their plush living room, Hauwa pulled out her phone and dialed a familiar number. It was time for her nightly video call with her family. She smiled as she waited for them to answer, feeling grateful for the technology that allowed her to stay connected with her loved ones despite the physical distance between them.
Adda Bahijja's face appeared on the screen, and Hauwa's eyes widened with excitement. "Congratulations, Adda!" she exclaimed, beaming with joy. "I heard you had a beautiful baby girl!" Adda Bahijja smiled, looking radiant and happy. "Yes, I did! And I'm so grateful to Allah for blessing me with this precious gift."
Hauwa's eyes misted as she gazed at her sister-in-law's happy face. "I miss you so much, Adda," Hauwa said, her voice trembling with emotion. "I wish I could be there to meet my new niece."
Adda Bahijja's face softened, and she smiled at Hauwa through the screen. "I miss you too, Mai Jidda," she said. "But I'm so grateful that you're happy and safe with Sa'eed. We'll catch up soon, insha'Allah."
As they chatted, Hauwa added Ya Aisha to the video call and Ya Aisha immediately answered as if she had been waiting for the call, and Hauwa's eyes lit up with excitement. "Ya Aisha! How are you, and my baby's?" she asked, smiling warmly.
Ya Aisha's face broke into a smile, and she launched into a story about how her mother-in-law had finally stopped harassing her. "She still doesn't talk to me much," Ya Aisha said, "but at least she's not insulting me all the time. And Mubarak is still the same loving and gentle husband. Alhamdulillah."
Hauwa's heart swelled with gratitude as she listened to Ya Aisha's story. She was so grateful to see her sister happy and thriving, despite the challenges she had faced.
As they continued to chat, the twins, Safira and Safina, and Jannah started clamoring for attention, insisting that they take pictures and send it to them. "We want to flaunt you guys!" they exclaimed, giggling and posing for the camera.
Hauwa laughed, feeling a sense of joy and contentment wash over her. This was what family was all about – love, laughter, and support. She felt grateful to be a part of this beautiful family, and she knew that she would always cherish these moments.
As the video call came to an end, Mami and Mama took over the phones, offering words of wisdom and advice to Hauwa and Sa'eed. "Be patient, my dear," Mami said, her voice soft and gentle. "Your own child will come when the time is right. Just enjoy this journey with Sa'eed, and trust in Allah's plan."
Hauwa nodded, feeling a sense of peace and calm wash over her. She knew that her parents were right – she just needed to be patient and trust in Allah's plan.
As they said their goodbyes and ended the video call, Hauwa turned off the lights and snuggled into Sa'eed's embrace. He pecked her forehead, and she felt a sense of love and contentment wash over her.
As they drifted off to sleep, Hauwa felt grateful for this beautiful life she had built with Sa'eed. She knew that there would be challenges ahead, but she was ready to face them with courage and faith.
In the stillness of the night, Hauwa felt a sense of peace and tranquility that she had never known before. It was as if the world had slowed down, and all that mattered was this moment, this love, and this life she had built with Sa'eed.
As she slept peacefully in his arms, Hauwa knew that she would always cherish this moment, this feeling of love and contentment that had washed over her like a warm wave.
Only one chapter left and then an epilogue🥹🤧.
