Naila's birthday is today, also it's 2 days before Fatima's procedure. The plan was to fly in and out of D.C so Naila can see her 'brother' but Zac decided to throw a huge party and have his new friends he met in New York come over.
Fatima: Zachary! We didn't need an ice sculpture of Naila.
Zac: We did, it's so cool. We're moving into winter in a week, why not have it early. A Winter Wonderland.
Fatima: I agreed to the ice-skating rink but an ice sculpture?
Zac: Wait till we get to the venue. It's going to be so beautiful. Are you ready for the procedure?
Fatima: Can we not talk about this at 5 in the morning?
Zac: I want to make sure you're okay.
Fatima: I'm fine. Can we not talk about it?
Zac: Okay. How about I give you a massage?
Fatima: How about you give me some dick?
Zac: Huh?
Fatima: You haven't touched me since you got back from the funeral.
Zac: I know, how about we get through the procedure?
Fatima: And wait for a couple of weeks?
Zac: Yeah.
Fatima: Okay. (She got out of bed)
Zac: Where are you going? The sun isn't even out yet.
Fatima: For a run.
Naila is usually up around 08:00 when she's not going to school, Fatima knows she has about 3 hours. She started walking, as time went she was run, emotions visible as tears streamed down her face. Zac has been acting different since her diagnosis, she feels like he's disappointed. She stood by a bridge, listening to the water as she stares into the distance. It was a bit cold.
Stranger: You must be having a tough morning.
Fatima: Yes. Just, life is lifing right now.
Stranger: I get that. I'm Rolex.
Fatima: As in the brand?
Rolex: Yes.
Fatima: Okay, Fatima.
Rolex: Lovely to meet you. So, why are you here crying?
Fatima: Long story.
Rolex: I have time, and it looks like you need someone to vent to.
Fatima: You're a stranger but thank you.
Rolex: I know, how about coffee?
Fatima: I can't, I need to get home, it's my daughter's birthday.
Rolex: Oh happy birthday to her. Well now I need to get you to that coffee shop, they have great pastries, a little gift from a stranger.
Fatima: Okay. We running?
Rolex: If you will keep up.
As they ran, Fatima saw that they were heading to her cafe. It had just opened 10 minutes ago, it's 07:10am.
Rolex: They have the best pastries in town.
Fatima: Thank you, I actually own this place.
Rolex: Damn! I guess I'm getting free coffee at least for making you smile.
Fatima: As long as you buy my daughter her favourites.
