"Hank turned that radar installation into a transmitter. It's designed to amplify brainwaves so it can enhance your telepathic powers and help us find more mutants for our devision." The male agent said as I looked out the large window I leaned against to the giant radar outside.
I turned my attention back to Charles and the agent, but my eyes stopped at the doorway as Erik stood there in a black turtle neck, listening in on our conversation.
"What if they don't want to be found by you?" He questioned looking at the agent behind the desk. My lips came together to show a toothless grin.
"Erik." I said a little surprised to see him standing, and even still being at this facility.
"You decided to stay?" Charles asked looking over at Erik who was staring at me like he needed to talk to me about something.
"If a new species is being discovered, it should be by its own kind. Charles and I find the mutants, Cassandra will help as well. No suits." He said simply as he moved closer into the room toward the desk of the agent.
"First of all, that's my machine out there and second of all, it's much more importantly Charles decision. Charles is fine with the CIA being involved, aren't you?" The agent asked as I turned my attention away from the conversation.
"No, I'm sorry, but Erik is right. We'll find them alone." Charles said grabbing my attention and pulling me back into the word exchange.
"What if I say no?" The agent asked. Looking over at Erik, I noticed he was already staring at me.
"Then good luck using your installation without me." Charles said telling it like it's so. Getting up from my resting position on the window, I walked behind Charles and past Erik out the doorway.
Outside the room, Erik grabbed my wrist and stared into my emerald hues. I smiled boldly at him and waited for what he was going to say to me.
"Are you in?" He asked stilling holding onto my arm. His brown eyes scanned my own for an answer before I could speak.
"What does it look like? If you stay, I stay." I said slipping out of his grip and walking off back down the hallway.
"So, if I left you would of followed me?" I heard him ask before I rounded a corner.
"Of course not."

The hatch opened upwards as I followed closely behind Raven into the dome shaped radar installation in the middle of the field. Erik trailed behind me and Charles led the group up the stairs.
"I call it Cerebro." Hank said showing off his creation. Machines lined the opposite wall and a metal pad with a helmet above it sat in the middle of it all.
"As in Spanish for brain?" Charles questioned, getting a little giddy with excitement. Hank responded smartly and told us more about the machine.
"Okay, so, the electrodes connect Charles to the transmitter on the roof. When it picks up a... a mutant his brain sends a signal through a relay and their location is printed out here." Hank says walking us over to the wall of machines.
"You designed this?" Ravens asked as I leaned against the railing of the stairs. Charles climbed under the wires to the helmet and stood with it on top of his head.
"What an adorable lab rat you make, Charles." Erik said walking around the pad that Charles stood on. I chuckled at his comment and walked over to stand in front of the English man.
"I support this one, Erik." He said getting ready as Hank started flipping switches and pressing buttons.
"We have both been lab rats, we know fully well what it's like." I responded as I made room for Raven and Erik to stand next to me.
Cerebro started up as the machines behind Charles revved and hummed with energy running through them. The dome's lighting dimmed and the helmet as well as the pad Charles stood on glowed an eerie blue.
Then a bright flash of white exploded from the helmet as he grabbed for the metal railing surrounding him. Raven looked up at him a little concerned as he cried out in a short burst of pain. Erik and I stared at him and Cerebro like we were waiting for it to explode.
"It's working!" Hank called out from the machines. I stood back up and gave a short smile towards Charles. He returned it and I walked over to Hanks side to look at the locations that were spitting out of the typewriter.
"I'll take this one." I said pointing out one and leaving the radar installation with Erik, Raven, Charles, and Hank to figure out the rest.
