It takes a second for my breath to get caught in my throat
And for the words to stop before my lips
It takes a second for my eyes to close
But it takes you a second to spit upon my temple
It takes you a second to burn its walls with a single touch
It takes you a second to steal its jewels
And strip it of its gold
It takes you a second to turn a building into rubble
And the rubble into dirt
It takes you a second to turn me into nothing but a body
Nobody at all
