This can't be happen. I wasn't ready for this. “But this is what you wish for”. The voice in my head responding to me. I was too stunt to see her in person. I was convinced that she wouldn't accept my 2 weeks old invitation.
Seeing her in front of me is so different from talking to her online. Is she really here or am I hallucinating?. I pinch myself… no no no she is really here.
JANE is actually here in front of my eyes and she is walking towards me, not exactly towards me. But she is standing right in front of me following her brother.
“Hey, Danny” I nodded to Dane. Then my eyes travel to his side where his sister and my online friend stand. She flashed a smile to me and in return I gave her a smile too with a tilting head. A quick and unnoticed interaction in the history of interaction.
What it is about her, why is she having an effect on me. I am a bloody Casanova, I should be the one having an effect on her but here it is the opposite. My system is frozen when she is near or when she is talking to me online.
I need to know how she is immune to my charm. Strangely, I don't even want to try on her. She seems very guarded.
“You'll be rested because the team we are playing against is a weak team and there is no need for you to play against the weak team so Eden will fill in” Coach Roderick wants me to rest and prepare for the next match. My bad, I was benched the day she decided to come.
Again we won our 3rd match by 4-0. But we stayed to watch the second game. I was surprised to see her stay but it's obvious because her brother was staying so she had to.
I bet she might be thinking of being home right now. The other day when I asked her if she is an outing person or a home person. She said home.
I noticed her since she arrived. She'd been with herself. She doesn't have anyone to talk with, except her brother and Lovi.
The second game ended as well. So now everyone is heading to their home.
She was already standing in the parking lot. She must be waiting for Dane. “Bye” I came up beside her. She immediately replied to me with “Bye”. The funny part was we pretended in front of her brother that we don't know each other.
I reached home within 20 minutes. I took out my phone to upload today's team pic in my status. “Congrats for the win” she replied to my status. “Thank You” I replied.
Me: “Can I call you Moon? If you don't mind”
Her: “Ya sure”
Me: “OK, catch you later I am going out fishing with my lads”.
Moon: “wow you've got so much energy”
Me: “Ya sort of😁
Moon: “ To be honest right now I am tired and wanted to sleep after attending just one match”
Me: Ok, take a rest. Bye.
After that I went to freshen up and get ready for night fishing.
“Mom, don't wait for me, I'll come home late” I told my mom on the way to the entrance. Before mom said something I shut the door behind me.
I hate doing this to her but being at home and seeing her trying to be happy which I know she is not because she is missing my dad badly. But my dad and I are so stubborn to let go of what happened in the past.
“Dad, I won't go and I have decided” me matching my dad's tone.
“You will regret it Raj” My dad raised his voice.
“This is my life, you can't control it” I was so furious with him. I know he had sacrificed everything for me but it is also not fair to control my life forever.
My phone rang. I blinked back to the past and picked up my phone. It was Alfred calling me.
Alfred and James were already on the shore waiting for me.
We'd spend almost 4 or 5 hours on the shore. We've catched ton of fish. The time flew to 3 am when we finally decided to go home.
Mom was already asleep when I reached home. I had a spare key. Food was there on the dining table waiting for me. She never lets me sleep on an empty stomach but I, on the other hand, skip the meal because food tastes like cardboard nowadays in my tongue. Sometimes I lied to her that I had dinner at my friend's house because I didn't want to hurt her feelings knowing that I skipped meals.
Next day I woke up early in the morning for my daily Football practice. I don't know how I managed to open my eyes this early when I was sleeping late last night– meaning I just slept 2 hours.
My routine nowadays is Football practice, staying at home and again evening practice, back to home. Me and mom barely see each other at home because of her busy schedule. Night was the only time we could see each other but even at night time we both got tired and went to bed early.
I scrolled my phone while we were having our dinner.
“Are you waiting for someone's text?” Mom asked me after seeing me keep looking at my phone.
“No one” I put down my phone and started to eat.
“I am your mom Raj don't try to hide anything with me. It's clearly shown in your face that you are waiting for someone's text” Mom eyes firm to my face.
Actually it was evident my eyes were fully on my phone. I was really waiting for someone to text me but it seems she is uninterested.
“Mom, Actually there is someone I mean we just talk as a friend and she is a sister of one of my teammates” I told mom.
“That's good Raj. Making friends is a good thing and we should have friends in our life” Mom looked happy after I told her. “I know that incident you stop believing in making friends”.
I know what she meant.
