Sakura
Sakura couldn't be happier. Everything was finally falling into place. She never expected being with Gaara would bring her so much joy, but boy was she surprised!
He was kind, sweet, considerate and absolutely charming! She couldn't see why she would ever choose anyone else over him.
Well, if she was being entirely honest, her heart did once belong to someone else, someone she loved with her entire being and thought she would never move on from him, but given the circumstances, her old love treated her worse than garbage bag.
She never wanted to go back to him.
He was the villain in her story, a heartless beast who tore her heart into pieces and ignored and avoided here like a plague.
He didn't deserve her love, much less her tears.
Her personal life was thriving just as much as her work life. She finally wrote more songs! Her new song 'Forever Yours' was co-written by he and Gaara. At the wedding, when she told him about her struggles with writing, he offered to volunteer but Sakura thought he was just being nice. Turns out, he was not. He really had a way with words and Sakura was genuinely impressed.
She tried to drown out all the memories from the Uchiha's anniversary party. She didn't want to remember him, and Gaara was right there to help her with it.
Sakura just hoped she wasn't so fascinated by him only to forget Sasuke. She really liked Gaara and didn't want to hurt his feelings. He was perfect. She saw no reason to why she shouldn't be with him.
That's why she ignored the gnawing feeling deep inside her heart.
She didn't have time for distractions, she was trying to enjoy this newfound serendipity.
She wrote another song but this one was about Naruto. She wants to sing it to him when he wins, then it will be really meaningful.
Speaking of Naruto, he actually asked her if their old band 'Leaf's Shinobis' could perform at the party but Sakura turned him down. She would do anything for her best friend but she just couldn't take being close to Sasuke, let alone singing with him. One time, when her band was late, Sasuke, Naruto, Kiba and Neji took over their job and saved Sakura's concert from turning into a disaster. After that, they formed a band called Leaf's Shinobis. It was wonderful and memorable until Sasuke left for business school and they had to break up.
Reuniting the band now would not only cause her pain but hurt her image too, and her manager, Dahlia, would never agree. It would start up unnecessary rumors and she couldn't afford that. Not when she and Gaara made their relationship official in the public eye last week, when Sakura brought him as her date at the awards ceremony. In her acceptance speech she mention him along with her friends, and that summed up everything.
"Sakura, can you take your cat in your room? She's violently wrestling with my homework, and while I'd love to let her do that, if I tell my teacher that my cat tore my homework again, I'll get several weeks worth of detention." Kai popped his head in the door and looked at his older sister with annoyance.
Sakura chuckled. "Okay, okay. But I only left her downstairs because I was getting ready for Naruto's election party."
"Oh, can I come? Konohamaru told me he would be there too."
"You just told me you had homework, so no. Plus, the party is for close friends only. It'll only be the old Konoha gang and Naruto's parents. You'd get bored."
