CHAPTER 23

"Addison, bakit hindi mo ako sinabihan?"

Iniwas ko ang tingin ko dahil hindi ko kaya na tignan siya lalo na ang kanyang mga mata. Guilt is consuming me and I don't know how to explain things with him.

"Hindi mo ba talaga ako titignan?" He tilted my head with his hand making me look at him.

"Are you really serious on marrying that man?" Madilim ang mukhang nakatingin ito sa akin.

"Really? Then why didn't you contact me? Hindi mo ba alam kung anong naramdaman ko nung magising ako from that accident na wala ka? Fuck... I almost lost my sanity, Addison."

His voice cracked making my eyes and nose stung. Ramdam na ramdam ko ang bigat ng nararamdaman niya. Sa bawat salitang binitawan niya ay sobrang lalim non na tila nilulunod ako sa sobrang lalim.

"P'wede mo naman akong tawagan 'di ba? Ba't 'di mo ginawa? I ask your brother and even him, he didn't know where were you and when I found out about you being entangled with that freaking marriage because of your family-" He sighed and gasped for air. "Parang gusto kong pumatay. You could have told me that you're stuck here. Why can't you do that?"

Hindi ko mapigilan na mapaiyak. Draco's being expressive and it taken me aback. Hindi ko alam na malaki pala ang pinagbago niya after 7 years. I saw him as an annoying guy back then who likes to dominate people and play games. But now...

"I'm sorry..." Yan lang ang tanging lumabas na salita mula sa labi ko.

I couldn't grasp a reason that may sound enough to him dahil hindi ko man lang naisip na kaya niya pala akong iligtas. I'm so stupid, so stupid. . .

Draco moved closer to me and embraced me in his arms. His warmth made me feel so comfortable and I snuggled on his chest. I can hear his heart beat and its beating very loud.

"How did you found out that I'm here?" Pagbasag ko sa katahimikan.

"Well, the man you're supposed to be married with is my long time business partner and he told me about you."

"Pa'no? Napapansin ko na palaging wala si Yaroslav pero hindi ko alam na isa ka pala sa-"

Napansin ko ang pagbago ng timpla ng mukha nito. "May nasabi ba akong mali?"

"You're calling his name so casually." Aniya na ikinangiti ko.

"He's the one who wanted me to be casual with him. Isa pa, mahirap i-pronounce yung apelyido niya."

Nakakunot pa rin ang noo nito, hindi tinatanggap ang rason na sinabi ko kaya hinayaan ko na lang siya.

"Pero yun nga, pa'no niya nalaman na connected tayo?"
