The soft hum of New York City was unlike anything you'd ever experienced. You could feel the pulse of the city in the streets, in the air, in the bustling crowds. The towering skyscrapers surrounded you, the streets alive with energy. Everything was new, exciting, and just a little bit overwhelming. But most importantly, you were here with Nicholas Chavez, the guy who made every moment feel like a movie.
It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon when you and Nick landed in the city. You had decided to take a spontaneous trip to New York for the weekend—a much-needed escape from the daily grind of your busy lives. For the next 48 hours, it was just you and Nick, exploring the streets, eating everything in sight, and making memories.
You had never seen him quite like this before—so carefree, so in his element. There was something about New York that made everything seem more possible, more alive, and watching Nick enjoy the city made your heart swell. He had a way of seeing the beauty in everything, especially when it came to you. Every laugh you shared, every kiss you stole, it was like you were the only two people in the world.
The first day was spent wandering around Central Park, taking silly pictures by the iconic Bethesda Terrace, and just enjoying each other's company. The weather was perfect, and Nick was full of energy, making you laugh constantly with his silly antics. He would sneak up behind you to steal kisses, his hands playful around your waist as he tugged you into his arms. You would always laugh, a feeling of warmth spreading through you every time he did.
As the sun set, painting the skyline in hues of pink and orange, you two made your way to a chic little rooftop bar. The view of the city at night was breathtaking—the lights glittering below, the noise of the streets softened by the height. You ordered cocktails and sat close, letting the atmosphere of the city wrap around you. Nick's fingers grazed yours as you sipped your drinks, and he leaned over to kiss your cheek, his lips lingering there for just a moment too long.
"Everything about this feels so... perfect," you whispered, your voice quiet but filled with affection.
Nick's gaze softened as he turned to face you fully. "Yeah? I feel the same way. But, you know, everything feels perfect when I'm with you."
Your heart skipped a beat, and you smiled, your cheeks flushing with warmth. He didn't have to say anything else; the way he looked at you said it all. The entire world could be chaotic and unpredictable, but when you were with him, it was like everything made sense.
As the night grew later, the two of you decided to head back to your rented penthouse, both of you a little tipsy from the drinks, the excitement of the day, and the overwhelming joy of simply being together. You couldn't stop smiling, everything feeling so right as you walked hand in hand through the city streets, your laughter echoing in the night air.
Inside the penthouse, you kicked off your shoes and collapsed on the couch, too exhausted to do anything but enjoy the comfort of the soft cushions and each other's company. Nick joined you, sitting beside you as you both stretched out. He pulled you close, his arm draped around your shoulders as you snuggled into him.
"I love this," Nick murmured, his voice slurring slightly from the alcohol. "Just... us. No worries. Just being together."
You smiled up at him, feeling your chest warm with affection. "I love it too. We should come here more often."
Nick grinned, his hand trailing down your arm as he kissed the top of your head. "Yeah, we should. I think this weekend is the best thing we've done in a while."
The two of you fell into a comfortable silence, the city lights outside illuminating the room. After a moment, Nick pulled away and looked at you with an impish grin. "I have an idea. Let's order some food. Like, really good food. You in?"
You laughed, the tipsy energy between you both contagious. "Of course! What do you have in mind?"
"Pizza, obviously," he said, his eyes twinkling with excitement. "And maybe some fries. Oh, and we definitely need dessert. I'm thinking cheesecake."
"I'm not going to argue with you there," you replied, reaching for your phone to place an order.
Soon, your food arrived, and the two of you sprawled across the couch, munching on pizza and fries, your laughter filling the room with warmth. You fed each other bites, stealing playful kisses between mouthfuls, both of you forgetting for a moment that the world outside existed. In these moments, everything felt simpler, sweeter, like time had stopped just for you two to enjoy each other's company.
As the night wore on, you and Nick had both had more than enough to drink. The tipsiness that had started to take over in the bar earlier had now turned into full-on drunkenness, and the room was spinning ever so slightly as you and Nick lay on the couch, tangled in each other. You kissed him repeatedly, not caring about anything else but the way his lips felt against yours.
Nick pulled back from a kiss, his eyes slightly glazed but still full of affection as he looked at you. "You know, I think I like myself better when I'm with you. Like, I'm... better. Happier. I'm just... more, you know?" His words were slow, deliberate, and yet so filled with sincerity that your heart skipped a beat.
You looked at him, a smile tugging at your lips, touched by his words. "I feel the same way," you said softly, your voice catching in your throat. "You make me better, Nick. You make everything better."
Nick's gaze softened as he reached for your hand, intertwining your fingers. "I want to be with you forever. I think I could live here with you and be happy forever." He kissed you again, this time long and sweet, and you could feel the connection between you both in the simplest of touches.
As the night began to wind down, both of you were well past tipsy, completely drunk on each other's presence, the warmth of the alcohol, and the way you made each other feel. You yawned, your body suddenly feeling heavy, the effects of the alcohol starting to take their toll.
"I think I'm gonna pass out soon," you muttered, resting your head on Nick's chest.
Nick nodded, his arms pulling you closer. "Me too. But... let's make it to the bed first. Can you walk?"
You gave him a playful glare. "I can't. I'm so drunk. I need you to carry me."
Nick chuckled, his laughter deep and a little slurred. "I got you. I'll always carry you."
With surprising strength for someone who was as drunk as he was, Nick stood up, lifting you effortlessly into his arms. You giggled, wrapping your arms around his neck, feeling safe and warm in his embrace.
As he walked you to the bedroom, you nuzzled your head into his neck, your eyes half-lidded with exhaustion. "You're the best," you whispered. "I'm so lucky to have you."
Nick's voice was soft as he lay you down on the bed, pulling the covers up around you. "No, babe. I'm the lucky one. I love you."
Your heart skipped a beat at his words, and you smiled sleepily up at him. "I love you too."
Nick didn't leave your side, though. He stumbled into the bathroom, still half-drunk, and returned with the makeup remover wipes you had left by the sink. He climbed back onto the bed beside you, his drunken smile wide as he carefully wiped away the makeup from your face. His movements were gentle, almost tender, as he made sure every trace of the night's look was gone.
"Can't have you sleeping in makeup," he murmured, his voice low but full of affection. "You deserve to be comfortable."
Once he finished, he then moved over to his suitcase and grabbed one of his shirts for you to sleep in. He helped you remove your clothes and put his shirt over your head and through the arm holes. After him getting you ready for bed he changed into some sweats with no shirt as he walked over to you and wrapped the blanket around you, pulling you close as he climbed into bed beside you. His arms enveloped you, his body warm against yours as you snuggled into him. You could hear the steady rhythm of his breath, matching your own, as the two of you drifted off to sleep, completely at peace.
In the midst of New York City's chaos, with all the bright lights and the fast pace, you found your calm in Nick's arms. In that small moment, in the quiet of your rented penthouse, everything was perfect. The city might have been chaotic, but with Nick beside you, you knew you had everything you needed.
And as you drifted into a peaceful, drunken sleep, you couldn't help but smile, knowing you were exactly where you belonged.
