The twins' parents came back a few hours after everyone left. They had no idea anyone had been here, and, well... I caught them doing certain activities on the kitchen counter.

Let's just say I'm never eating there again.

I haven't seen or spoken to them since. Now, it's three in the morning, and I'm being woken up by an incoming call.

Rubbing my tired eyes, I lean over to my nightstand, roll the charging cord out of the way, and squint at the screen.

Kristina.

I sigh, staring at the screen and debating if I even want to answer. Part of me just wants to ignore it, let it ring out. But it's late, and  if she calling me at this hour... it could be an emergency. I roll my eyes and swipe to answer, my voice coming out groggy. "Hello?" I just want to go back to sleep and hope my dream picks up where it left off.

"Heyyyy, bitchhhh," someone who is definitely not Kristina slurs into the phone.

"Uhm... hey?" It almost sounds like Bella.

"Why aren't you hereee?" She pouts. "I was so excited to hang out with youuu."

Yeah. She's drunk.

"Sorry, Bella. Uh... is Kristina there?" I ask, just to make sure I'm talking to the right person.

"Yeah, hold on. KRISTINA! PHONE!" She screams, making me yank my phone away from my ear.

I pinch the bridge of my nose. If this call is for nothing, I'm going to be pissed.

After a few more seconds of Bella hollering random nonsense, Kristina's voice finally comes through.

"Hey, Av. Sorry about that. I couldn't find my phone and forgot I let Bella borrow it earlier," she explains.

"Okay. Are you guys good, or was this call for nothing?" I ask, maybe a little harsh, but in my defense, it's literally three in the morning... and I'm not a big fan of her right now.

"Actually, yeah. Could you pick us up? No one here is sober enough to drive, and I really don't want to stay-" Kristina starts before getting cut off by yelling in the background. "Kaley! Stop! I'm on the fucking phone!" She snaps.

I pull the phone from my ear again with a quiet sigh. Seriously? I do not need yelling in my ear right now.

"Sorry, Aven," Kristina huffs. "I know it's late, but please. I can't stay here any longer, or I'm going to rip these bitches' heads off."

I blink at the ceiling, jaw tightening. "That serious, huh?

"These girls don't know how to stay off what's mine, even after telling them he's taken."

I let out a quiet breath through my nose, reaching for the end of my comforter. "Yeah... some people really don't know how to respect boundaries."

Hint. Hint.

"Is Ethan at least telling them to back off?" I ask, more out of habit than interest, sliding my feet into my slippers and switching on my lamp.

Ahh! My eyes!

I really don't want to get up.

"He was... until we got into this big fight. Now it's like he's flirting with them just to piss me off," she huffs. I hear a door slam, and the background noise fades.

I get up and walk to my closet, grabbing a hoodie. "Sounds like a great night." I mutter. My voice is flat, cool. The kind of tone that says I heard you, I just don't care.

"Amy told him what she saw the other night. What you saw..."

I pause mid-reach for my sweatpants and sit on the edge of my bed. "Right."
