Here is the Mexico game! If you want me to do chapters for the other 2 group stage games comment below! If not I'll skip them!!!! I might end up skipping them.

Your POV:

The day before our 1st match against Mexico we discussed our plan. Cheney was there to help run through our midfield. Abby also came just to motivate us.

"Against Mexico we're gonna be playing with a 4-3-3. Kling, Becky, JJ, and Kriegs you will be our 4 defenders." Kling and JJ high fived while Kriegs and Becky just nodded. "Solo." She looked up. "You will be in goal."

"With some retirements that happened in 2015 this is how our midfield will be." Cheney stood up. "Tobin, Lloyd and Pinoe. You our starting at mid. Moe and Kristie will be on the bench. You are our young guns that will come out if we need that extract push." She finished and sat down.

"Now up top we will have Alex, Y/N and Amy." Jill said. 

"We get 3 subs each game. Moe and Kristie we might use both of you, or one of you. Kelley." We all looked at her. "Be ready at all times. We might put you in at either midfield or a forward. Wherever we need the fresh legs." She nodded.

"Now with that said let's get to work." Jill finished. 

*Game day*

We went to the stadium and into the locker room. After pregame warm ups we finally got ready for the game.

"How those nerves doing?" Julie asked me from across the locker room.

I shrugged. "I don't know yet. Hey where's my jersey?" I asked.

Just then Jill, Abby and Lauren walked in. "We have something for you. Go Lauren." Lauren walked towards me with something in her hand.

"Okay so your jersey is gone." I nodded. "I have your jersey right here. After the Olympics when Abby retired you took number 20. But when you got dropped by Washington and I gave you a helping hand I so how dedicated you are to this sport. And because of that." She opened up the jersey. "I want you to wear number 12 from now on." She smiled.

I took the jersey. "Really?" She nodded. 

"It was my number and I hopped that after I retired someone with pure love and dedication to this sport will wear it. That is you. SO wear that number and make me and this country proud." 

"You got it." I hugged her. 

I put it on and we walked out of the tunnel. 

No One's POV:

In the 80th minute the US was up 2-0. Their World Cup was off to a great start. Morgan came in for Megan and Christen came in for Alex. There was one sub let and at least 13 minutes left.

There was a stoppage of play for a throw in. The US was gonna make their last substitution. 

"Substitution for the United States of America. Number 5 Kelley O'Hara replaces number 8 Amy Rodriguez." The crowd cheered as A-Rod walked off the field. She scored the first goal. Kelley came in.

"Rodriguez is out. O'Hara is on. The US up 2 goals scored by Rodriguez and Lloyd." The commentator said. "Do they have time for one more goal?"

Ali threw the ball to Morgan. She took it up the field a little and passed it to Christen. 

"Press with the ball. She has O'Hara and L/N in the box." 

Press gave it to Ali to sent in the cross.

"L/N goes up for the header! Oh and it's off the crossbar!" He said as you put your hands on your head. You gave Ali a thumbs up and waited for the goalkeeper to kick the ball. 

Once she did Becky easily stopped the attack and kicked it to Tobin. Once again the US were on the attack and this time it was Meghan with the cross.

"Klingenberg with the cross." The commentator said. "L/N controls the ball in the box and takes the shot and SCORES!" You ran towards the corner flag and waited for the team. "The US is up 3-0 against Mexico as Y/N L/N scores her first goal in her first World Cup!"

The US ended up winning that match and Kling got Player of the Match.

Ally's POV:

The game ended. "The US take 1st place in Group B, beating Mexico 3-0. They now have 3 points, Canada and Spain both with one, Mexico with 0." 

I smiled as they replayed Y/N's goal and celebration. I'm so proud of her. 

I'm such an idiot for letting her go.
