For the world map, I thought of doing something that mimics the red highlighted areas of one Vologda Mapping's videos. For context, he posted a video about the world according to the Europeans over the years.
He posted a second video talking about the Chinese perspectives.
I'm thinking of overlapping all the red highlighted areas and not include the other lands in which they'd be pet of. Though I'd consider the addition of extra continents. Maybe the purple highlighted areas of the first video, from 1529 to today. Or maybe the addition of custom continents that would still help the world map stand out from most other conworld maps, which mimic our world in boring ways.
Plus, Europeans did mistake various proportions of various parts of the world. Even Columbus.
If any of you have ideas, look back at the conlang ideas for extra information. It'd be nice to be generous and merciful. I could also add actual lost continents and fictional ones, or versions of them.
There's also the flora and fauna to consider, and I might add for similarities to Earth and the Refugium for familiarities, but still keep it different, especially to stand out. Plus, it could help with the taxonomic division of animals for some of the conlangs. There are still humans though. Any ideas for flora and fauna that are practical, let me know as well in the comments.
Also, I'm thinking of custom versions of calendars for the speakers of the languages those conlangs are based on, and there could be a mapping of areas and division of territories not just based on rivers, mountains, and other natural boundaries, but also via longitude and latitude. Pretty interesting ideas.
