Both Harry and Ginny awoke with a start. A loud piercing scream erupted from a small figure sandwiched in between them. The pair of them groaned in unison.

Ginny rolled over in the bed, looking at Harry with desperation. Harry knew in an instant what she wanted, so he rolled over too, and faced his new born son.

"Shhh..." Harry yawned, as he looked down at his scared little son. "It's okay Jamie, Daddy's here," Harry  grabbed his little son, who wore a bright red body suit, with a lion stitched on to the middle of it; representing the Gryffindor crest. He cuddled James, hoisting him up to his shoulder.

Harry walked out of the room, and into James' bedroom. Carefully, he sat down on the comfortable cushioned red chair, and rocked James ever so slowly, and as he did so, James' cries gradually died down.

One week had past since James entered the world, and what a week it had been. Emotional. Fun. Tiring. So many mixed emotions were felt by both Harry and Ginny, but ultimately, they were happy.

James seemed to sleep all day, and cry all night. He refused to sleep in his cot. Many of their family members compared him to an owl, though, they also assured them that it was perfectly normal. James didn't sleep for very long, before waking up, needing to be fed. Therefore, Ginny and Harry spent their day fussing over him, and to their dismay, their nights fussing over him too.

On the first few nights of the couple having James at home, Ginny got up each and every time, which Harry was grateful for, as she could feed him, he could not, hence, it was a lot easier for Ginny to comfort James than it was for Harry. Though, her temper soon increased, and she snapped and yelled at Harry over the smallest of things. Harry always felt a pang of hurt when she did so, but he constantly reminded himself that Ginny didn't truly mean any of it-- or at least, most of it. Harry did feel bad for Ginny, as she didn't get much sleep, but he just reminded her that James was the priority for both of them, and begrudgingly, she agreed.

Ginny couldn't imagine her life without Harry helping her constantly. He was a great help during the day and night, and as she closed her eyes to try and relax, she couldn't help feel both grateful and irritated, as she waited for the inevitable call from her husband, saying James needed feeding.

"That's it Jamie, go back to sleep," Harry cooed, brushing the layer of fine hair to the side. "Do you need a nappy change?" Harry asked rhetorically, sighing, as he walked over to the wooden changing table, and placing James onto it. As soon as James was out of Harry's grasp, he started to whimper. James seemed to love nothing more than being in his fathers arms, or to be held in general, any time he was awake and alone he whined. Both Harry and Ginny found this difficult. It made it hard for things to get done. Both of them couldn't be do something, as one always had to hold James.

"Shh..." Harry mumbled to his crying son. "Everything's alright. Daddy's here. Daddy's right here." Harry took a fresh nappy from under the table and got to work on James.

Harry carefully unbuttoned the bottom of the screaming boy's Gryffindor body suit, and snatched the nappy off of him with haste, as the package that lay inside of it was not a pleasant one. Reaching into the side of his pyjamas, Harry grabbed his wand, and then grabbed some cotton wool from the table. Wetting the cotton wool with his wand, Harry guided it carefully, with his wand, Harry watched as the wool wiped James' private parts. Harry lifted the crying boy up slightly, so that the bottom of his back and his bum could be wiped too.

"Adda boy, Jamie," cooed Harry, quietly, as to let Ginny sleep. "Ssh," Harry lifted up the boys body suit and blowed down or blowed raspberries on James tummy. But to no affect. James seemed oblivious to this sign of affection, Harry sighed, and continued to work.
