Ginny could sense that the Potter household was slowly but surely going back to normal. And she didn't like it. Teddy spent two days with the Potters, and left, leaving both Harry and Ginny satisfied with his visit. Harry and Ginny spent the next few days looking after James. He had no constant or consistent schedule, no matter how hard Harry and Ginny tried to force one onto him. But he was not as difficult as Ginny anticipated, and she was thankful for that.
The main change from the whirlwind that had been the past two weeks, was that Harry would be returning to work today. Harry felt a mixture of emotions. Relief, as the longer he stayed off work, the more he would have to do. Excitement, to return to his vocation. Sadness, as he wouldn't get to spend as much time as he had got to do throughout the two weeks, with Ginny and James. Nervousness, as he wouldn't get to be there to help them, but he would also miss out on getting to watch James, in such depth, develop and grow. However, he was ready.
Harry cradled James in his arms. He wore his Auror robes and stood by the fireplace, his briefcase standing beside him.
Ginny watched her husband and son adoringly. She would miss him. So much. She was nervous about him leaving, she wasn't sure she could handle James alone. But she told herself over and over again that she could. She had to. It was her duty.
She was annoyed at Harry leaving. The pair had no money difficulties. From the money Harry had inherited from both the Potter and Black family, and the money he earned as an Auror, and Ginny earned as a Qudditch player. They had enough to get through life comfortably. However, she knew money was not why Harry worked. He loved his job. He loved to save people, even if it meant risking his own life in the process.
"I'm gonna really miss you today, Jamie," Harry kissed James' forehead. "Be good for your mummy, won't you? She's gonna be good to you, so make sure you're good back."
Harry kissed James on the cheek one last time, and whispered, "I love you James," Harry passed James back to Ginny, who unfolded her arms and held the child against her chest.
Harry leaned in and kissed her on the cheek.
"Don't be too late," said Ginny plainly, her eyebrows raised.
"I'll try." smiled Harry, as he backed into the fire, and within a moment, was engulfed in blue flames.
Ginny looked down at her fidgeting son.
"Well, I guess it's just you and me, Jamie,"
It wasn't.
Within ten minutes, a voice called into the house. Ginny was eating a bowl of berries, as she cradled James in her free arm. Ginny looked up immediately curious as to who the voice could belong to. She heard it again. It sounded vague and dreamy. Ginny smiled. Luna.
Luna appeared from around the corner. Her dirty blond hair hanging down like leggings on a washing line. She wore a long sleeved dark blue top, with a crescent moon in the middle of it, and loose fitting dark blue trousers to match. A smile present on her face.
"Luna!"
Ginny walked forwards and took her friend into a one armed hug. As she did so, James whined.
"I'll take him," said Luna, offering her arms forwards. Ginny obliged, gratefully, and watched on as her friend rocked her baby in her arms, making him calm again.
"How was Moldova?" Ginny asked Luna, who's eyes were fixed on James, in concentration. Luna and her boyfriend Rolf had gone to Moldova for three days, searching for some sort of magical creature, that Ginny couldn't remember the name of.
