With everyday that passed, in contrast to what Ginny believed pre-James, everything seemed to get considerably harder. With each day came so many new responsibilities, little ones, but they took time nonetheless, as with the more time they spent with their son, the more they learned about him, and how he liked things done. To say he was fussy was an understatement.
James screamed whenever he was left by himself. He was a sensitive baby, and when he slept in his parents arms, he stayed asleep, but if he was put into his cot, he would wake in an instant, and scream until he was picked up again. Ginny was sceptical about this. She figured he knew exactly what he was doing. And was doing it to cause trouble.
Two weeks have passed since James entered this world. In that time, Teddy only visited him once, which was on the day James was born, and that meeting didn't initially go how exactly Harry and Ginny wanted it too, so they arranged with Andromeda, in order to bring Teddy over that morning.
"He should be here any moment now," said Harry, who sat at the end of his bed. Ginny was feeding James, her back rested again half a dozen pillows.
Ginny nodded. Not looking up from James. She was still finding breastfeeding considerably difficult.
"I'm here!" came a high pitched voice from downstairs. Teddy.
Harry gave Ginny a knowing look, and set off down the stairs.
Harry noticed the apprehensive Teddy, as he reached the last of the stairs. His hair messy and black. His eyes wide and green. A large Gryffindor backpack strapped on his back. Wearing A red shirt with a lion and a blue pair of dungarees over it.
"Hi, Teddy." Harry smiled at his godson, whom was running up to him at top speed.
"Daddy! I missed you!" Teddy exclaimed excitedly, resting his head on Harry's stomach.
Harry bit his lip. Looking down at his godson who looked like a miniature version of him, though, without the glasses. He felt the usual pang of pain and guilt in that moment.
"I missed you too, Teddy." Harry picked Teddy up and held him close to his chest. Teddy threw his arms around his neck. Harry wasn't really telling the truth. He didn't really notice Tedddy's absence, and truthfully, he was worried about how Teddy would change the dynamics of the house. If it weren't for James, Harry would have missed Teddy, for sure, but he felt like James filled the void of his life now. However, Harry vowed that he would still show Teddy as much love and affection as he usually did when they were together.
"What we do day?" Teddy asked Harry, as Harry tried to put him down, but Teddy wouldn't budge.
"Lot's of things." answered Harry. "We can play outside and play, swim in the lake, play games, visit Vic and Dom, play with Ginny and Jamesie," Harry paused. "Whatever you want to do,"
"I no wanna see baby Jamesie." said Teddy in an instant. "He baby." Harry didn't know what to say, but Teddy kept speaking. "Where he?"
"He's taking a nap I think," said Harry thoughtfully. Though, he knew Ginny was breastfeeding, and he didn't want to take Teddy up whilst she was doing that-- though Teddy didn't seem to care about seeing James.
"Naps are babies!" exclaimed Teddy.
"Then I guess you're still a baby, Teddy," said Harry, somewhat defensively. "You nap too."
"No I not!" yelled Teddy loudly. Harry shushed him.
"I neva baby." said Teddy. Harry had had this conversation with the boy dozens of times at this rate.
