The cheers and screaming of the crowd outside had Class 1-a bubbling with a mixture of nervousness and excitement.

Some of them chatted to distract themselves from the impending Sports Festival that was about to take place. While some were particularly excited to showcase their quirks and display their powers in front of millions of people.

"Izuku, I'm so nervous about this." Uraraka huffed, pushing herself between Izuku and Denki. Izuku smiled politely though his eyes still lingered on his friend, "We'll be fine, Uraraka. We've all been training for this anyway so there's nothing to be nervous about, right Denki?"

The blonde nodded, forcing himself to not stare at Izuku's smile for too long. "Oh yeah, after this would you like to hang out?"

He couldn't help the wave of jealousy that flowed through him. He wished he could easily ask Izuku out like that without worrying about if Izuku thought it was a date or not.

"You mean just the two of us or with our friends?" Thankfully for Denki, Uraraka freaked out, "Uh, I meant all of our friends of course!" In the corner, Mina face palmed while Denki did a little happy dance in his head.

"Sure, I'd like that." Before their conversation could continue, they heard the shout of their energetic teacher calling out their class.

"Looks like we'll have to continue this conversation later, Uraraka." Denki sent her a tight lipped smile as Izuku took his hand and led him outside.

The cheers only seemed to get louder as they stepped out, much to the dismay of the other classes. Class 1-A could feel the hateful glares from their peers sending shivers down their spines.

"Could the representative student, Bakugo Katsuki, come out and give the opening speech?" His classmates could feel the impending feeling of dread as Katsuki made his way to the podium, a stoic look present where his usual smirk is supposed to be.

"He isn't going to say anything to make them hate us even more, right?" Kirishima let out a nervous laugh and Sero shrugged. "I just wanna say... I'm going to crush you losers."

Silence.

And then the various classes burst into shouts of anger directed at him and his class. "Did we really think Bakugo was going to say anything that wouldn't piss anyone off?"

Midnight laughed and crackled her whip, causing the students to go silent. A jumbo screen appeared beside her and on it, a wheel of fortune was displayed. The wheel spun and Midnight licked her lips, "The first event is... the obstacle course!" The crowd burst into cheers once more.

"On your marks, get set... Go!" A gun went off and all the students rushed into the tunnel at once.

As Izuku walked freely, squashing the people around him enough to make space for him, he pulled Denki into his arms and dragged him out of the tunnel. "Thanks dude, I thought I was going to die back there." Denki joked.

"It's not over yet. Some of our classmates are way ahead of us."

The ground shook as they advanced and eventually, they came face to face with the zero pointers from the entrance exam. "Remember what I told you, Denki." The blonde nodded and ran to one of them, releasing just enough electricity to short circuit the robot and moved on to the next one.

Seeing as his friend was advancing, he flattened the robots in his way and kept going.

"Denki, grab one of the pieces of the rubble." The blonde raised a curious brow but sifted through the pieces of rubble anyway. "Grab one big enough for the both of us. I'm gonna float us to the finish line."

The two ran ahead, stopping as they stood in front of the pits. "Climb on and hold on to me tight, okay?"

They both stepped onto the metal plate and Denki wrapped his arms around Izuku's torso. "Here we go..."

Izuku let out a shaky exhale and they both glowed green as the metal plate began to float over the pits at high speed. Denki held on tighter, thanking the universe for an excuse to be this close with his crush.

As they made it to the final bout, the one person Izuku wished to never see again sent a student flying their way. Izuku immediately stopped, dodging the screaming student who landed on a land mine and was blown elsewhere.

"Yagi."

"Izuku."

"Denki, do you trust me?" The blonde nodded, glaring Izumi down. "Good. Remember to never let go of me, no matter what."

Before either of them could process his words, Izuku shot ahead, leaving Izumi in the dust. With gritted teeth, she used her quirk to levitate herself towards the finish line and catch up to Izuku.

Bakugo and Todoroki were the first to finish the race and Izuku and Denki crashed into them both seconds later.

"We made it!" Denki whooped. "Why don't you fucking get off first before you start cheering?" An angry voice barked and Denki jumped off nervously.

Seeing how intimidated his friend was by Bakugo's outburst, Izuku smacked the back of his head, "Watch it."

Poor Todoroki just watched in concern as Bakugo and Izuku glared each other down. "I hope they aren't going to be like this till we graduate..." He nodded in agreement with Denki.

Students began to pour in and before Izuku knew it, someone had grabbed him by his collar. He stared unimpressed by the sudden action despite his brain and body screaming to get away from Izumi. "You fucking Deku. You just had to live, didn't you?"

Luckily, Bakugo stood between them before anything else happened.

"Izuku!" Uraraka yelled and ran into the ravenette's arms. "Guess we both made it, huh?" She laughed. Izuku only nodded and turned back to his friend hoping he didn't get the wrong idea.

Midnight appeared again and announced that only the first forty people could move on to the next round, leaving behind a lot of disappointed students.

"The second round is going to be... A CALVARY BATTLE. For this round, students are expected to form teams of four and for that you'll be given a total of fifteen minutes. After those fifteen minutes, you will all be expected to take or protect your headbands which will display how many points you have. The team with the most points by the end of the game wins. As for how many points you all got, the person who came in last place gets like a hundred points and the person in 39th place 200 points and so on like that. The first place winner however has a total of one million points!"

Todoroki shivered as all eyes fell on him though he didn't let his blank expression fall.

Denki immediately glued himself to Izuku's side and unfortunately for him, so did Uraraka. "We're just missing one more person."

That's when Izuku spotted him; the taller, tired looking boy with a head of purple hair. "Hitoshi, wanna join our team?"

Hitoshi shrugged, throwing his hand around Izuku's shoulder.
