"So how did you become so wise and great at giving advice?" I asked Sayeema who was laying with her upper part on the bed, and her lower on the ground.

"Umm, my dad is a psychologist. I used to listen for his calls with the patients, I didn't hear the problems, but I heard the solutions. I thought that it was fun to know, and great because it makes people feel better." Sayeema picked herself up and sat on the bed. I handed her the vanilla milkshake as I sat next to her. "Thanks." She smiled as she took the cup.

"I told my dad that I like psychology so he started to tell me some of the simple problems and wanted me to solve it. He actually used two of my solutions with his patients; which I'm so proud of." She continued to explain.

"Wow! When did all of this happen?" I asked her before taking a sip from my drink.

"Uh, when I was 10 years old, I think." She replied.

"Kian told me that you've helped him so much when he was 12, that means that you were 11 years old. This is brilliant!" I remarked raising my eyebrows.

"Thanks. Yeah, I've actually loved psychology even more when I saw that it helps Kian." She replied nodding. "He has loved his mother so much, he was so depressed at first though he didn't show it to anyone - not even me, but I could see it in his eyes. I needed almost a year to gain his trust and to have him telling me about his problems so I can help." She stated in a matter of fact tone.

"Thank you so much for helping him." I smiled thankfully at her.

"It was my pleasure." She replied smiling back.

"It's time." I said mostly to myself as my smile faded away. "I guess I'm ready to tell my story."

"Are you serious?!" Sayeema asked widening her eyes.

"Yes." I said nodding.

"Can I call Kian to listen to it or....?" Sayeema asked without completing her question.

"Yeah, sure. I was about to call him." I answered nodding.

"Okay, wait a second; I'll bring him." Sayeema said jumping off the bed.

I have buried those broken pieces of a barely breathing story where there once was love for so long, and it's time to take this weight off my shoulders.

Kian entered the room with a worried look with Sayeema following. They sat quietly looking at me which was kind of disturbing.

I sighed slightly placing the drink on the ending table, looking away. I then had the courage to look them both in the eyes and start speaking.

"I did not have the best family." I started, lowering my eyes. "We were not that perfect family that you see on t.v or...the family you'd hope for, but we were fine. We had our problems and things between my parents weren't always good, but we had those times where you feel.....that you belong to someone - to a family."

"My dad has a tough childhood, and that's why he's so violent. He was in a road trip with his family and....there was something wrong with the car. The flames started to eat the front part of the car where his dad and mum sat. Don't expect a peaceful mind and thoughts from someone who has saw his parents burning....screaming, when he was only 6 years old."

Sayeema gasped strongly hearing the last sentence. I raised my head and nodded at her before lowering my eyes again.

"He had to live with his uncle. His uncle's wife did not really accept him as a part of the family. She was not mean to him or anything; she didn't say any bad things to him, but the way she looked at him....it was not a look that you'll get from someone who accepts you. The way she treated her two sons was completely different from the way she treated dad. His childhood was terrible."
