The ceremony ended and here comes my favorite part of all; buffet. Lines of table with food, filled the hall. Tables and chairs were set up for everyone to relax and enjoy their food. Some were dancing on the dance floor with their graduation uniform still on.
I arrange some mini cheesecake bites on my plate and wander off to my table where the boys and Seunghee was sitting around at. I sit beside Yoongi and he turns to me, tilting his head with a smile so cute I almost died. Seunghee eyes us from across the table and I can tell she was hiding back a snicker.
"Ya...you're embarrassing me. And what's up with that suit?" I point to his tuxedo.
"Well we thought you'll like it," he pauses and giggles, "Since you're always embarrassing us we'll do the same to you." He says, winking mischievously.
Jungkook breaks the conversation and taps my shoulder, "Oh Noona, this is for you." he says as he fishes out a small box from his jacket pocket. He places it in front of me and I put it in my hands, carefully pulling the lid open. It was a silver necklace with a basketball charm, the letter 'E' carved in italic.
"The hyungs and I got it for you. We hope you like it," he says as he rubs the nape of his neck. One side of my lips already curls up before I could even say anything,
"It's really pretty, thank you." I manage to say. The boys sigh in relief and Yoongi hands slip into mine under the table.
"Oh, yea I almost forgot! She is my best friend, Seunghee." I point to Seunghee who now looks up from her plate of food. The guys greet and introduce themselves but Seunghee just nod her head while occasionally flashing boring smiles.
"She's a bit cold at first but she's really nice and does a lot of aegyo-"
"Ya, jugulae?" Seunghee hisses at me while pointing her fork mercilessly. The boys laugh and I can't help but join them.
"Eunbi-ah!"
I turn around and see oma and appa walking up to me with bright smiles on their faces. I stand up and unexpectedly, Yoongi follows.
"Oh? Who do we have here?" Oma says as she pulls down the sunglasses from her face while eyeing Yoongi from top to toe.
"Annyeonghaseyo , jeoneun Yoongi imnida." Yoongi bows and I realized that our fingers were still interlocked.
"So this is the guy! Not bad. I like his face." Oma says as she pinches Yoongi's cheeks and I can hear giggling from behind.
"Oma! Hajima..."
I narrow my eyes at appa, begging him through telepathy to stop oma. But, he simply crosses his arms and shakes his head. "Both of you..." He says while putting a hand in his hair, "Take care of each other and don't do ridiculous things you hear me?"
"Ne, I will take care of your daughter really well." Yoongi replies in an unexpected high tone and bows. I can't help but admire him. My parents bid farewell before walking off. Yoongi plops down to his seat and wipe the beads of sweat rolling down the side of his face. Jimin stands up and massages his shoulder while smirking, showing off his eye smile.
"I thought I was gonna die." Yoongi says as he slouches in his seat.
I sit down and shove in another mini cheesecake into my mouth, "After this, I bet they would want to see you more than I want."
After eating our food, the boys disperse and join the crowd of dancing people. I see Jhope, Jin, and Namjoon dancing as if this was their party. From afar, Jimin was leaning against the wall while flirting with this random girl. Tae was busy stuffing food into his mouth by the buffet table. Jungkook and Seunghee were still rooted to their seat, chatting away.
I asked Yoongi if he wanted to see our school garden and he said yes so right now, were walking along the path of fresh green grass with cherry trees surrounding our sides.
"So, my girl is already graduating huh? What are you gonna do after high school?" Yoongi says as he sways our hands.
"I don't know. Maybe i'll find a course related to writing, since that's the only thing i'm currently good at right now. What are you planning after high school?"
"Me? My exam results are so-so. But hey, I got basketball-"he pauses and purses his lips.
"Wae?" We both suddenly stop and he turns to face me.
"Aren't you gonna play basketball again?"He asks with a hint of plead in his voice. Even my fingers can't make up for all the times people ask me this question. And all the time, my answer would be the same, nah or not sure. Truthfully, I am so desperate to get back to court. It has been more than 6 months since I touched the ball.
"Eunbi?" Yoongi snaps his fingers at my face and brings my attention back.
"Oh?"
"Well, are you?"
"I'm-"I think carefully before answering. "-soon."
Yoongi sighs and I watch his chest rise and fall. He flashes me a quick smile before putting his hands on my shoulder, squeezing it gently.
"Stubborn girl."
"Huh?"
"Stubborn girl."He says even slower but this time, kissing me on my lips. I feel his hands moving down to my waist and I let my hands move up to his neck.
"Yoongi, gomawo...for coming." I say with our face inches apart.
"Anything for you." He replies in his warm voice.
"Saranghae" I said it. It felt so cheesy and corny yet so good to be able to say that.
He looks surprise but takes it to heart. "Saranghae."
I pull apart from his embrace and gaze into his eyes.
"Kaja, the boys must be waiting for us." Yoongi says as he walks past me. I follow closely behind him and suddenly wish this picture of him walking in this cherry garden is etched into my brain forever.
