Rhonda and I both shot straight up from the couch in a state of shock. However, the poor lady looked like she was going to have a heart attack.
The anger that rolled off of Elli was clearly visible and as he stalked towards the couch growling at Rhonda, she backed up with fear written all over her face until her back hit the wall behind her.
Without any hesitation, I ran straight towards the couch.
Using the tip of it to propel myself into the air, I jumped straight at Elli. He seemed taken aback for a moment as he stumbled a little, but sturdied himself after I wrapped my legs around his torso. I slung my arms around his neck and buried my head into his chest.
As much as I hate to admit it, this was probably the best part of my day so far. Even though his body was full of rock hard muscles, I couldn't help myself from feeling more comfortable than I had ever been before.
Before I knew it, his arms wrapped around me protectively and his grey eyes fluttered closed. Elli relaxed almost instantly afterwards and I gave myself a mental high five.
Behind me, I could hear the shuffling of feet leaving the room and becoming more distant by the second.
We stayed in that position for about five minutes until I remembered the mission I was trying to accomplish by tonight.
I strained upwards, my lips barley brushing against Elli's ear. Hearing his breath hitch in his throat I couldn't help the smile that toyed on my face.
I whispered silently into his ear, "Why don't we go to our next destination?"
He nodded slowly before seemingly gathering his thoughts back together and opening his eyes. They were soft for a split second, then visibly became cold and unreadable the next.
He carried me outside the nursery with my legs still wrapped around him and his arms around me.
I stopped him when we reached the edge of the forest. As much as I loved the way he held onto me like his life depended on it, my legs were starting to go numb from being in the same position for so long.
I was surprised he was able the stay quiet for so long. The entire time I was with him, he had never shut up. I guess my touch was better to him than any of my words were.
The silence was cut short when I unwrapped my legs from Elli's waist. He growled in protest and I scoffed at him, my feet meeting the green grass below us.
"I'm a big girl, I can walk by myself" I said almost matter-of-factly. As much as I hate to admit it, I did feel kind of cold and empty without his warmish embrace. "Plus my legs were getting tired from wrapping them around your waist for so long."
He smirked at the last sentence and I knew he was thinking dirty of it.
"Trust me Bambi, if your legs are tired now just wait till we-" he started before I interrupted him.
"Don't talk about something that won't happen." I glared at him.
"It's going to happen S." He smirked. "Don't fight it."
We started walking again and he took my hand in his again. Would these sparks ever not effect me?
"Bambi? S? What's up with all these nicknames?" I asked.
"They fit you baby." He laughed at my sour expression.
"Why don't you call me by my actual name?" I asked.
