Half a day had passed and you were still unconsciously laying on the cold wooden floor.
Every so often, your fingers twitched slightly—the faint sign of life stirring within you.
Slowly, your eyelids fluttered open, your vision hazy as you drifted back to consciousness.
A dull ache spread through your body as the sting of the minor bruises made themselves known to you.
Then with many difficulties, you lifted your upper body up in a sitting position on the dusty ground.
A soft groan escaped your lips, fatigue weighing heavily on you.
Your gaze swept across the unfamiliar room, confusion settling deep in your chest.
Where... was this place?
Not being able to recognise the environment around you, you stood up from the floor, standing on your bare feet.
"What the..." you murmured under your breath, eyes darting around in search of answers.
But none came, instead silence filled the air, thick and unsettling.
The once familiar place now looked unfamiliar to you.
Lowering your gaze, you stared at the back of your hands, your heart pounding in unease.
There was nothing familiar—nothing that sparked recognition.
"Where... am I?" you whispered, questioning yourself.
Then, a deeper fear settled in your bones as the next question slipped from your lips, barely audible.
"Who... am I?" your hands trembled slightly, but your eyes never left them, as if searching for a piece of yourself you couldn't remember.
You couldn't recall anything that had happened before you regained consciousness just moments ago.
It felt like you were a newborn baby who was just brought to earth a few minutes ago.
"Did I loose my memory? who am i..." you didn't even know your own identity, not even your name.
All you knew and remembered was how to speak English.
You walked here and there in the dusty house, having no clue what you should be doing.
Even the pain coming from the small bruises on your body were now unnoticeable for you, you were entirely lost.
At one point, you curiously walked up to the front door of the house and opened it.
"Woahhh" a sudden rush of happiness crossed over your mind as you took in the beautiful environment outside the house.
Then you stepped a foot out the house, into the shadows of the burning sunlight.
"AH!" you hissed in pain and quickly stepped back inside, as your bare feet touched the burning hot ground, which was heated by the sun.
Breathing heavily, you glanced down at your bare feet, confusion clouding your mind.
How could something as simple as the ground hurt like that?
Everything felt new to you, as if you were experiencing the world for the first time.
Slowly, you peeked outside again, this time more cautious of the sun.
The neighbourhood you were currently standing in was quite silent, but the sounds of nature made it more lively.
You stared at the blue sky in awh, the sky was filled with white clouds, looking very dreamy.
Then your gaze fell on the board sign on the streets, it was written in a language you couldn't read but it somewhat looked familiar.
Just then, your eyes darted to an old couple taking a stroll around the neighbourhood as they talked to eachother, bright smiles plasted on their faces.
You watched as the couple strolled past.
Somehow, you overheard what they were talking about, as the grandma said: "Sora ga kirei da ne" which you couldn't understand anything of.
Then the grandpa chuckled softly and responded: "Marude kimi no yō ni" to his wife.
"...Marude kimi no yō ni?" you mumbled, tilting your head in confusion, as you curiously tried to understand what the old man just said to his wife.
"I wonder what that means" you said to yourself, curiosity taking over you.
You then decided to go back inside the house and find a pair of shoes to wear.
You walked over to the stairs, where you saw some shoes laying around.
But a part of you didn't want to wear those shoes so you went up the stairs.
As you walked up the stairs, you noticed some photo frames hanging against the wall, they were all covered in dust.
However, the faces of the people in the photos were still visible to the naked eye.
"Are these the people that live here?" you muttered while staring at the photos.
"Truly some of the most beautiful people, I must say" you added as you went further up the stairs.
Then you stumbled upon the last photo frame on the wall.
"Hmm" you hummed as if you were thinking of something while taking a look at the last photo frame hung up on the wall.
"I don't know who you are, but you look so familiar!" you said, pointing your finger at the face of a small girl sitting on a chair, behind a birthday cake.
You were pointing your finger at the photo as if you were speaking directly to her, even if it was just a photo.
But little did you know, the girl you thought looked familiar... was you.
~ To be continued"
For the people wondering what "Sora ga kirei da ne" and "Marude kimi no yō ni" means!
