The next morning you woke up feeling like as if your body energy had reached its pique.
You were really excited to start the day—A new opportunity given to continue your life journey.
You freshened up—taking a short cold shower and later doing your skincare.
The boost of energy still flowed through your body like never before.
But it died as soon as you stepped down the stairs to the living room where Ni-Ki was present.
Ni-ki layed flat on his back against the couch—scrolling through his social media with an unreadable expression expressed.
You couldn't read his face.
He seemed to be down—for what you didn't know.
But at the same time, he just looked like he was bored and sleepy.
"Good morning!" you greeted, trying to distract him from his phone.
But not once did he glance your way—as if not hearing your voice.
"What's up" you spoke again, walking closer to the couch with your brows frowned in confusion.
His eyes finally lit up the moment your voice cut through his focus—reaching to his senses.
"You're finally awake!!!" he spoke, diverting his gaze away from the screen on his hand, as he immediately stood up from the couch—faster than a light bulb ever could light.
"Were you waiting for me to get out of bed??" you questioned, his words taking you by surprise.
He was the type to sleep in, while you woke up the moment the sunlight hit your face early in the morning.
"Uhh..maybe" he replied, his morning deep voice gentler than usual.
"Close your eyes" he added, not giving you a chance to reply.
"Why?" you questioned, the surprised expression on your face now replaced with a confused one.
"Just trust me! Don't open em until I say so" he responded, pulling you towards the dinning room as he intertwined your hands together.
Moments later he stopped on his tracks, making you stop along.
"Open your eyes in...

1! SURPRISE" he spoke, letting go of your hand as your eyes fluttered open.
"What's all of this??" you giggled seeing the little surprise he had prepared—his first attempt in making breakfast for you.
The dining table was filled with different varieties of breakfasts—Pancakes—Scrambled eggs—an avocado toast—etc.
"You know I can't eat all of this right?" you chuckled.
"Well, I didn't know what you would be craving...so I made a little of everything" he smiled while pulling a chair and gesturing for you to sit on.
"Thank you" you whispered, the once gone excitement now flowing back in your body.
"Anything for you" he said, sitting across from you.
"That's cheeky. You weren't like this when we first started dating" you laughed, teasing him as you took a bite out of the pancake placed in front of you.
"Well, I guess people change overtime" he shrugged his shoulders, taking a bite of his own pancake.
"Mhm this is actually good" you mumbled, taking a moment to savour the sweet flavour of the maple syrup drizzled over the pancake.
"You sure you made this and didn't just order some takeout?" you suddenly questioned, giving him a narrowed look.
"Woahhhhhh I can still cook you know? That's offending..." he scoffed, pouting his lips.
You rolled your eyes.
"You offended me more that one time when you fought with me over a dumpling takeaway at a random food stall!!" you said, suddenly bringing a whole new topic up.
"Oh come on!! That was like years ago" he complained, his plate now left untouched.
"Oh? then what about that one time when I was late for dance class just because you couldn't stand seeing me wear Hyunjin's spare clothes—just because I had forgotten mine at home?" you added, a smug smile tugging at your lips.
Ni-ki scoffed at your comment, but the way his jaw clenched didn't go by unnoticed.
"That's nothing to be offended about" he mumbled.
You leaned in closer, your eyes narrowing with a smirk.
"Jealous, were we?".
"No. Just shut up and eat" he said, rolling his eyes in mock annoyance, which only made you giggle.
"Just admit it" you continued teasing.
"Admit what? I've got nothing to admit" he scoffed again.
"Yeah sure".
