Chapter 3 of Shadow Dairies: Igris

Igris stared at his queen, Jisoo having a lunch with Penelope and Esil in Esil' home. They were talking about ways for herbs to grow in the Shadow Realm and of course, how it could help for the current residents whom Jisoo took in. 

Penelope being the first, she was suggested about planting them in Shadow Monarch's castle and anywhere where they had plants and forests. 

While they were talking, Igris suddenly gets image of different girls who were in a tea party. They looked Eurasian and of course, wearing European medieval clothing and they were enjoying their talk with laughter and smiles. 

Igris slightly look down with his hand turned into a fist. 

It was one of his memories when he was a human before he met Ashborn and became his second Grand Marshal. Those girls were his daughters, and they were very much around Jisoo's age. 

"Despite my brother was feared by both Monarchs and Rulers, he was always compassionate." Igris turned around and saw Seraphina, the Ruler who was known as the Burning Fragment of Light and the adoptive sister of Ashborn when he was a Ruler. 

Seraphina was in her human form; she wore a classy white suit with a blazer and trousers with golden jewelry such as choker cross, wing shaped earrings and white-gold flower hairpins on her blonde hair. She also wore a pair of heels.

She looked at Igris before he turns away and remained quiet. Seraphina sighs but her stare remained the same. "I know what happened to your family, I am terribly sorry for what you had to suffer." Seraphina spoke calmly with sympathy in her tone. Ingrid didn't respond but his silence answered everything.

Seraphina knew that Igris had a tragic past when he was human, and he lost everything because of selfish and arrogant nobles.

When Igris was human, and it was before he met Ashborn the original Shadow Monarch and King of the Dead. He was well known knight with humble origins and the king's most trusted and respected advisor.

The nobles looked down on Igris for being a commoner but also, they were jealous of him because of his strength, his love for a fight, and also, being so handsome family man.

They tried too hard to make Igris never reach to their level of status but because of his reputation and fame, the king made his most trusted advisor that made the nobles livid in jealous and humiliation.

That's when the nobles went far enough to attack Igris while holding his family hostage, his parents, his wife, and his children were killed in front of him when he surrenders to save his family and later killed him when he was heartbroken.

That's when Ashborn appeared and offered Igris to have his justice on those who wronged him and his family, Igris who was filled with grief and grudge accepted the King of the Dead's offer and rose as a Shadow.

There, Igris took his revenge and slaughtered every noble family who took part of the murder of his family and earn him the title as Igris the Bloodred.

Despite he got his revenge, he knew he couldn't go where his family were because he took vendetta on the people who wronged him by killing them. So, he pledged loyalty to Ashborn and swear to be one of his wings in his Shadow Army.
