song: walk on the wild side// lou reed
"How are you even here? Last time I checked, you were still in Colorado." Luke asked Millie once they pull away from the hug. They both sat down on the couch and left the rest of the group confused.
"Um, we moved actually. My dad thought Australia would be a better place for me to train, so here we are." She answered. Millie was still confused as to why Luke was in Australia.
"How are you here? I mean you disappeared on me back when we were 11. Do you still swim?"
"No, not anymore. I can't swim, because of my knees. I tore my ACL and my meniscus, so its just too hard on my knee for me to swim." Luke explained. Before Millie went professional, Luke and Millie swam on the same team. Luke wasn't as good as Millie, but Luke was still a good swimmer. He was able to make it to regionals, and he was on a few state relays.
"Oh that's too bad. How are your brothers? Aren't they in-" Millie was cut off but Michael clearing his throat. Luke and Millie stop their conversation and turn their heads to the three boys who stood in a line with their arms crossed.
"How the fuck do you two know each other?" Michael questioned. Millie innocently looked down at her hands and turned her body to the other three. Millie was about to begin explaining before Luke started talking before she could.
"I told you guys how I used to live in Colorado, right?" Luke reminded them. They nodded their head yes. "Well, I knew Millie. When I used to swim, we were on the same team. But then Millie stopped practicing with a team before I moved. We were... best friends, you could say. Right?" Luke informed the three before looking to Millie, who nodded her head in agreement.
"I believe we're done with that little sob story, so will you now show me the wonders of punk rock?" Millie asked the guys. Millie has heard of the genre before, but never listened to that kind of music. She never listened to it because she wasn't really allowed to. Her parents said she was 'too young' for certain types of music.
"Correct! Lettuce begin!" Ashton yelled. Millie looked at both Michael and Luke's collections of records, and them combined, there were quite a few records.
"Where do we begin? Aha!" Ashton hummed to himself while searching for a certain record. He pulled out one that was black and white and had a man who was about to smash a guitar. It had read "London Calling" in green and pink writing.
"The Clash. Early seventies punk from, as you can see, London." Ashton explained. He placed the record in the player and placed the needle on it. A loud, familiar drum beat and guitar strum started playing. Millie then quickly recognized the song.
"Oh I know this song! My mother plays it sometimes while we're in the car or just working around the house. She's from England, actually!" She exclaimed. The four boys continued playing different records, and explaining them at the same time. As each song played, her liking for this genre grew bigger.
"I really like this kind of music, I can't believe I've never heard any of this music before, its great!" Millie exclaimed. The boys laughed at her reaction.
"There's still so much to show you Millie, but we've got to practice." Michael told her. She pouted her lip, slightly disappointed that she couldn't listen to that music anymore.
"But you can stay and watch us, if you want that is." Calum said immediatley following Millie's pout. The other guys gave him a small look but shrugged it off.
"Oh sure, that sounds like fun." Calum grinned wide and the four started to set up.

"And that was a cover of a track by All Time Low, one of our inspirations by the way." Michael told Millie who was currently giving them a standing ovation.
