"Of course you idiot."
"Wow. We're engaged."
They kissed. He slid on the ring. They tightly embraced each other.
"I love you."
"I love you too. So much I do."
Luke and Ashton were engaged.
After 4 years, at the ages of 22 and 24, Luke and Ashton were engaged and everything was amazing.
It had been a fairly simple proposal. They were eating dinner in their apartment when Ashton declared his love for Luke, got down on one knee, and asked. Simple. Just like Luke and Ashton themselves. They were simple people who led simple lives in a simple apartment. Their dates were simple, their gestures were simple, their love was simple. This however, was fine with both of them. They were madly in love and only had eyes for each other. It didn't matter how simple their gestures were because while simplistic to the normal passerby, had always meant the world to the couple.
And even if no one ever saw how loving those gestures really were, it didn't matter to either of them because they were the ones in love and as long as they knew, no one else mattered.
"We need to celebrate." Luke stated.
"Maybe we should finish dinner first." Ashton suggested.
Luke looked at the food then back at Ashton and shrugged his shoulders.
"Alright. But after dinner."
"Of course. After dinner and long into the night." Ashton smiled and reached across the table, grabbing his fiancés hand in his own, and fell in love all over again.
