A/N: This story has been changed to mature by Wattpad and I'm kind of lazy to appeal this, but I want to say that this shouldn't discourage you from not reading these, since I never meant for these to be mature.

Liam (age 16):
You never got into an argument with Liam in your life. Despite your age gap, you were always pretty close and he always protected and believed you when no one else would.
You knew that recently he'd been struggling with his mental health. More recently, you've found yourself taking care of Bear a bunch whenever he'd came over to visit.
"Is daddy okay?" Bear asked you once.
"Daddy's just fine, Bear. Sometimes daddy's head isn't feeling well, so he wants to take care of it. But sometimes he doesn't do it well and needs some alone time," you explained, to the best of your ability.
You sighed. During the day, Bear could recognize that you were trying your best to stay strong and you even let him make you watch a show that you didn't like, but it cheered you up. You thought that it was also a good learning experience for Bear because you taught him something new that he may not have been exposed to yet.
At around dinner time, Cheryl came over to get Bear.
"Hey Cheryl," you greeted her.
"Hey y/n, how did Bear treat you?" Cheryl asked.
"Bear was great! I sort of explained how Liam was struggling with mental health in a way that he would understand," you explained.
Cheryl beamed at you.
"That's great! I'm glad he's learning about that from you," she said.
When Cheryl left, you heard someone clear his throat behind you.
"What were you talking about with Cheryl?" Liam asked. His tone was furious but he was trying to keep his composure.
"I was just-" you started.
"No, you can't say that I'm struggling in front of my own goddamn kid. You're making it seem like I'm a bad parent. The media already hates me, I don't want them to think that I'm a bad parent," Liam said.
"Liam, I'm not saying that you don't love him. I specifically told Bear that you love him very much but that your head isn't doing so well and you need to take care of it," you calmly explained.
"How is Bear going to understand that? You need to be straightforward with him. He's almost 7 and he doesn't need to be coddled," Liam argued.
"I explained it in a way that he'll understand, I'm not coddling him! Plus, I also didn't want him to bother you when you're like this," You argued. "It's called being a good aunt."
You two went back and forth until Liam sent you to your room like you were 4. You almost protested, but you quietly agreed. He was, after all, your guardian.
After an hour or so, Liam came up to you room.
"Hey, I'm sorry with how I reacted. I think recently, things are just not going right," he explained.
You scoff.
"Oh really?" you said, sarcasm dripping in your words.
"I'm serious, y/n. You were good to Bear. I need to be more involved in his life," Liam said. "And you obviously know a lot about mental health, seeing as you take care of me all the time. I want to thank you for that."
