"Brooke.." Whip smiles as I walk towards them. "You look.. Wow.."
"Wow is not strictly an adjective Whippet, but thank you."
"Chap's got himself a good posh Brit then has he? I'd quite like a posh girl." Gina punches his arm lightly as he laughs. Chap stands in the doorway in a black suit with a matching blue tie.
"Brooke." He grins as our eyes meet. "I've never seen anyone so perfect." He whispers as he hugs me.
"I've not actually seen myself but I'll take your word for it." I tell him as Whip's camera flashes.
"You can see now!" Whip grins as he shows me the picture. I can't believe they've made me look so nice. Tears stand in my eyes as I see someone who has never been me. Not only am I wearing a dress and make up for the first time in a long time, I'm also dressed with a smile.
"You'll mess up your make up Brooke." Chap says, kissing me again. "You don't mind this do you?" I laugh, shaking my head.
"I've never seen myself like this." I answer truthfully.
"This is how I see you, every single day." He smiles. "Now come on, we don't want to be late. Oh, final thing. I brought you some new shoes, I think they go quite well with the dress." He grins as he hands me a new pair of black Dr martens, adorned with an embroidered rose. I've always wanted some but never had the money, and I'm almost certain Chap doesn't either.
"Chap.. You must have spent a fortune, why don't you take the shoes back?" He shakes his head adamantly.
"They're a present Brooke. I've got enough money to treat you! We need to get going soon." I nod and tie the shoes to the top. Chap helps me to my feet before leading me outside. "So Whip's driving us out there, sadly Gina and Lilli are going home now though." I turn to both women, smiling.
"I just wanted to tell you.. I've never ever looked this good. I missed my prom because I was too ill, I've never had my hair done, my hands are too painful to put make up on. You've made me feel human, even if it's just for a day. Thank you so much, for everything." Lilli starts to cry as she hugs me.
"You look amazing Brooke, don't forget how you look right now, on your worst days you can remember that this is how good you look." She smiles as she lets me go. "Chappo is very lucky." She steps back as Gina comes towards me.
"You're so inspiring Brooke, I'd never have coped with everything you've been through. If you ever need anything, we're both right here. Have fun today and don't worry about money okay? He has it all covered. Don't worry about anything other than you and him. Whip's promised me he'll stay in the car park just in case too." She pulls away as Chap kisses me once more.
"My princess," he bows, "Your carriage awaits." He helps me into the car before sitting in the other side. "I was hoping to find you a limo but apprently it's too short notice and Lilli said you wouldn't care. We dressed up the car though!"
"Chappo, seriously, all I care about right now is you. I don't need all this stuff. Although, it is nice and I love you for doing all this for me." Whippet climbs into the front seat.
"My lady." He says, seriously, "Sadly, you must be blindfolded for a little while but I'm sure your prince can take care of you." He grins as Chap carefully covers my eyes with the scrap of fabric. He picks up my hand again and I feel him lean closer.
"I think you are worth so much more than you give yourself credit for. Not only are you kind and friendly, you're also beautiful on the outside."
"I think we can stop with the compliments now." I hear him laugh.
