Chapter 30

Nathan's POV

I woke up the next morning thinking about yesterday's day at the beach, with Brittney, more importantly with Allison. She was all I really wanted, needed.

Suddenly, Jay called me from downstairs.

"Nath,there is someone here to see you!"

Who could it have been?

It was Chloe.

What was she here for?

Laura was behind her and said,

"She has something to tell you."

Chloe then said,

"Well, I just came here to-. Apologize."

she said, putting emphasis on "apologize" like it was a nasty taste in her mouth.

"Well, umm, what are you sorry for?" I asked pretending not to know.

"You know! Or at least you should know." She said lowering her voice.

"No, I don't."

"I'm sorry for being rude to your dog."

"Chloe!" Laura told her.

"Fine! Girlfriend."

I then told her,

"You want to apologize to her?"

"No, just to you. Bye!" She said on her way to leave with Laura.

"Wait, I want to talk to Allison." I told her rushing.

"Sorry, she's unavailable." Chloe told me quickly.

"What do you mean by, 'unavailable'?" I asked.

"Unavailable. Can't talk to you, hanging out with her boyfriend, busy."

"Help me make it up to her."

"Why would I?" She asked.

"Because every second of the day, I miss her. And I think she misses me too."

"Awww!" Laura started saying.

"NOT buying it! But, aww" Chloe interrupted.

"Thanks for the aww's you two, but please!!" I was begging so much.

Laura seemed taken, but unsure. Chloe thought about it.

"I once said that if you hurt Alli I would crush you, then bring you back to life so I could do it again. Would you accept that?"

"Absolutely." I replied.

She looked into my eyes searching for the truth. Her eyes were so piercing, I looked away. That was a big mistake.

She slapped me across the face, her expression unforgiving, her eyes cold.

"Actions speak louder than words." She sneered, turned away, with Laura, and left.

What if she's right? What if Allison is trying to avoid me?
