Armin was quick on his horse. With the immense adrenaline coursing throughout his form, he swayed himself and his horse to the opposite direction that the titan was running at. This was when you noticed his presence draw closer to you; he looked so frightened.

"(Y/N)! Why aren't you going! We're gonna die!" Armin panics. He doesn't even take the time to slow down to properly face you and talk to you, instead, he yells off loudly as his horse takes him to wherever.

Knowing of the titan running at such an alarming speed, you catch up with Armin. "Why don't we just kill it off?"

"Why are you being so calm?" His eyes were about the size of dinner plates if you were to ask someone else, "This thing isn't an abnormal, this thing is showing intelligence!"

He was right and he was wrong both simultaneously. You weren't calm, no not one bit. Your heart was pounding, so loud that you could hear it in your ears and it felt like it was going to burst out of your chest. Your body was numb, it was way, way passed the trembling stage. And every few minutes you'd find yourself gulping nervously, which for an odd reason made your throat dry. Although, Armin was somewhat right because it wasn't obvious for him to notice. He couldn't notice your beating heart and your numb body. And your voice showed no anxious qualities whatsoever.

You take a quick glance over your shoulder, maybe the quickest glance you've ever taken in your life. During that small duration your eyes catch a glimpse of the titan still charging towards you two, inching closer and closer and closer.

"It's showing intelligence, like the Colossal Titan, like... Eren!" Armin's nervous voice shakes you out of your thoughts, "It's a human being wrapped around in a titan body!"

You gulped at what he said. He was right about that. This titan.. this titan was showing intelligence, that fact alone made it all the more intimidating, if that was even possible.

"Oh no... Why!? We're dead, (Y/N)! So dead!"

Emphatic and loud footsteps were heard right behind Armin and you, which was the unfortunate sign telling you both how close she was. The stomps were so aggravatingly loud it was as if your ears were going to pop, a part of wished they would so that you wouldn't have to hear Armin's shouts and whimpers knowing that a titan was tailing so close behind.

Was this it? Was this your death? You didn't even last long in this expedition, maybe Levi was right when he said what he said earlier, maybe you were dead weight.

'So this is how it is, huh?'  You thought.

No old age, no drowning, no cries, no holding hands or dying in someone's arms, no peaceful death. This was you, on a horse with a titan oh so frighteningly near you who was probably going to stomp on you like a bug. Your guts everywhere, blood staining the ground as though you were nothing but an ant, just like your father.

Eyes closed you held on tightly to your horses reign's another gulp going down your throat. You couldn't even say anything to Armin because he was too occupied with panicking. With your breathing struggling to be composed everything seemed to have gone silent. There weren't loud stomps and Armin's constant squeals. So you opened your eyes, exhaling sharply into the air. Your eyes met Armin who was looking up in awe, his eyes still wide open and his mouth agape. Then you noticed it too, the large shadow looming over your bodies, so you stare up. It wasn't long for you to look as shocked as Armin did.
