well, here it is.

-

It was the feeling of fear, horror, and perhaps anger that replaced every single emotion of feeling happy to meet your father. You had waited and waited for spring break to come, and it came, you had waited until the last few days of spring break so you were able to visit your dad, and that day came.

You expected a happy, smiling, dad with the same shine in his eyes every time he would speak. You expected never ending stupid and corny jokes that you would always laugh at. You expected his home made noodle soup that you loved as a child.

What you saw was your father.

And here he was, lifeless and dead.

The only thing that accompanied him during his period of loneliness was the pool of blood that stained his favorite white shirt, and his insides that were scattered across the ocean of red. His eyes were open, but you failed to spot the shine in his eyes and you failed to spot the look of content every time he'd see you. You failed to see his breathing from his stomach.

You were in too much in pain and shock to even scream, the only sound you made was the loud cries and sobs that escaped your mouth. The tears kept everything around you blurry, and you internally thanked them for blocking off the horrifying image before you.

You hoped that this as just a sick joke from him, but you knew that he wouldn't go this far as to try and trick you. No, you saw his lack of breathing and you saw his pale face from the absence of blood. This was real. Your father was dead and you couldn't save him from this gruesome fate.

All your life after you joined the Scout Regiment, you also had thought that you were the only one to protect your dad if a titan were to ever victimize him. You sought to protect your dad from the titans. But you never thought to protect him from something far worse than a titan, the mind of a terrible human being whom decided to do the most sadistic thing they could do to a human.

And your father, you knew he didn't deserve this. He would always greet people in the most kindest way possible, and he would always smile to strangers. He taught you the kindness in your character. No one you knew would ever plan to kill him this way, he was way too nice to even consider hurting a fly. Sure, he had moments that were regretful but he was truly a kind guy.

You bottled up all your courage to inch near him, stopping right at the puddle of blood and beggining to hold your breath to avoid the stench of his rotting corpse.

"Dad..." You whispered, placing your hand over the unstained area of his shirt, right where his heart was.

"I'm here." You attempted to smile a weak smile, but obviously failed due to the continuation of your cries when you realized that he was officially gone. There was nothing you could do about it but sit and stare at your father who had been waiting for you to come, but all he got was his insides being ripped out by a merciless man who had no second thoughts.

At Headquarters

Levi was bored. Extremely bored.

Another two hours had passed and you weren't there to fill up the silence and space. He loved your company, but he also loved the silence of serenity of a nice warm cup of tea and book that Erwin sought for him to finish after a year of receiving it.

Though, all could Levi think was you. He couldn't focus his attention towards a book that he had no interest in whatsoever, he had an interest in you and now he regretted not accompanying you on your journey to visit your father. And he thought to himself, "Maybe I should go to surprise her." Then he instantly denied his own thought after thinking about how your dad was only expecting you to come and not his daughter with some man by her side.

He could of had Hanji come in to break the silence but he detested the way Hanji spoke too loudly and too excitedly. And even he were to consider it, Hanji would probably be on her way to your house in order to say a proper goodbye.

"Oh shorty~!" Hanji busted through his office door, not even having the manners to consider knocking first.

"I'm going over to [Y/N]'s dad's place so I could properly say goodbye. You want to tag along and see your beloved girlfriend?" Her voice was filled with tease at that last part of her sentence, along with a few wiggles of her eyebrows.

"What the hell, no. How do you even know where her father lives?" Levi said, slightly creeped out and mostly irritated.

"I already knew [Y/N] before she joined the Scouts, and I knew her dad too. I thought you already knew that?"

"I didn't bother listening to an irrelevant topic that involved you."

Hanij wasn't offended by his comment, all she did was smile and understood that the Corporal was grumpy because his beautiful girlfriend wasn't here to give him kisses or hugs, or even much more.

Hanji sighed, "Well, Levi, I'll be off."

"Whatever."

While Levi sat in his office, Hanji was quick to get on her horse and rush to you. Of course, her reason to see you was terrible, but with Hanji being herself, nothing really stopped her from doing what she wanted to do.To be honest, she just wanted to spend time with you, and even if your father was there (or so she thought so) it didn't bother her as she remembered how your father enjoyed her company.

With one or two boring hours travelling on her horse, she finally reached the same old house that she had only just been into once. And even if Hanji only did come to your father's house once, it was a time that wouldn't be forgetful. Before you joined the Survey Corps, Hanji would visit when she could, and when she did, it was the very first time she had came to your house after years of friendship. Your father had invited her for dinner, and all three of you talked about how you were to one day join the Survey Corps and help humanity. But that was so long ago, when you hadn't witnessed the malice and blood out on the battlefield, it was so long ago yet Hanji remembered it so vividly and she was overly excited to meet your father again since she missed the way he had made his soup. When she knocked on the door her smile was as wide as the endless waters Armin called 'oceans' and as heartwarming as Hanji's love for her pet titans. Though, when the door wasn't answered for quite a while, she was suspicious.

And so, she had opened the door.

She had instantly met with the scent of rotting flesh and the sounds of wailing and sobbing that sounded so broken that the pieces were too hard to fix, making it hard to describe the amount of pain you were going through. Hanji was confused, shocked, and perhaps even saddened. She almost already knew what was going on the minute she recognized the smell of a dead body, and she knew who those cries belonged to.

"[Y/N]?" Her voice was wavering, like she was trembling, even if she wasn't.

You heard Hanji's voice, you felt her presence behind you, but you were too sad to even consider moving out of your spot. Your father's death was impacting you so hard right now, it was even impossible to reply back, all you did was cry, cry, and cry. At moments like this, you had wished for Levi's warm and comforting touch to compose and console you, but he wasn't here at the moment. But Hanji was, and she was worthy enough for you to try to inch closer to her.

"H-Hanji..." Oh you were in so much pain, you needed a hug. And so, without another nanosecond passing by you, Hanji quickly pulled you in for a hug before you could even ask for one.

As she hugged you, she noticed your father's dead and distorted body lying on the floor with his blood surrounding his lifeless body. Her eyes widened as she saw this, immediately feeling incredibly terrible for your loss.

"It's okay..." Hanji whispered, petting your head as you sobbed uncontrollably into her Survey Corps uniform.

"It's okay, it's okay, it's okay."
