Just a Normal Girl

Chapter 21

*Hailey's POV*
I was woken up in the strangest way possible. My sister was crying. I figured it was just a dream until reality sunk in and I realized it was all true; my sister was crying. I didn't understand why. I mean why would you cry in California if anything I would be crying back home in AZ. I was staring at Ally in the strangest way when I was immediately snapped out of it. I finally- being the good sister I was- asked what was wrong. My sister looked at me and it seemed as if she was trying to speak, but the words couldn't come out. She turned her phone towards my face as I read the text.
Kyle: hey Ally. I just wanted to say something.
Ally: um ok tell.
Kyle: your ex is so hot!
Ally: what ex?
Kyle: me
Ally:.... Haha funny!
Kyle: I'm serious. Look, as I was at the park with you yesterday I realized something. I kept on checking other girls out and I kept on getting this vibe that you had changed. I'm sorry, but I feel like we weren't meant to be together. I'm sorry, but we can still be friends 😁
Ally: you could have said that instead of telling me in the rudest way possible. Look I'm not sure if we should be friends for a while. You were my first boyfriend and I'm sorry I just can't right now.😭😭😭😢😢😢
I looked at my sister's sad face and couldn't help but give her a huge hug. I felt so bad for her. I knew that Kyle dude was a jerk the first time I met him. I was so happy that he was gone, but my sister wasn't. Everything I said and did didn't seem to do any good. I left the room giving my sister some space and walked up to my parents. "Guys, I think we should let Ally pick what we do today."

My parents looked at me like I was sick or something because the next thing they said was "well someone is being awfully nice. What did you do to your sister?"

My arms went up and words came out "why do you automatically assume I did something couldn't it be her friends or maybe even her boyfriend..."  I gave my parents the hint hoping they would understand it. Finally after about 5 minutes of awkward facial expressions and looking around my parents finally got the hint.

"Did Kyle..."

"Yes. He broke up with her in the worst way possible, through text. So please don't go in there and start talking about it."

My parents nodded and off I was walking toward the breakfast area to get food. Before I knew it though, someone came up behind me and started rambling off a bunch of questions. "Are you and Hayes dating? How long? Where did he meet you? Are you a celebrity something? Would Hayes really date a fan? Did one of the boys set you up? How did you meet? Is he nice? Is he a jerk? Why is he dating you?" I just stared at the girl stunned not knowing how to react. I didn't even know the answer to those questions myself. There was no way out I had to say something, but what?
