After we had cleaned up the dishes in the kitchen, we lounged on the couch to watch T.V together, "I don't wanna leave," I told him.
"You're not. At least for tonight."
"Good, because I didn't plan on leaving anyways," I joked.
"Tell me about you and your family," he stated.
"Well, where do I even began?"
"Anywhere you like, but like most people I would prefer the beginning."
"I would prefer that too. Well, let's see. I come from a very high classed family. They always want me to do the best that I can. So, I try to do just that. They're paying for me to get my Psychology degree, actually. They said, whatever you want to do for your career, we would love to pay for it. So, I finally found my interest in Psychology," I said.
"So, why Psychology?" he wondered.
"Well, I want to do a certain thing with my Psychology degree."
"What would that be?"
"Okay so I want to work in the prison facilities. I want to work with prisoners one on one and help them. I want to do something with my life with helping people like them. They need someone to actually listen to them and let them know even though they did something wrong, they still have someone to talk to."
"How far do you want to go with the degree?"
"Doctors."
"Okay, okay. I would love to see you get there."
"Me too. So what about you? Tell me about you," I insisted.
"Well, my father always beaten and abused my mother and that's why I can't stand to see it happening to other woman. Baby, I love my mother so much and I know you're not supposed to say you hate someone, but honey, I strongly disliked that evil man. I'm in the same vote you're in," he said.
"What? What do you mean?"
"I wanna find the right girl that respects me more than anything. Treats me well," I looked at him strangely, "What did you think that woman only looked for that?"
"No, it's just nice to see that a man is looking for the same. But the scary thing is, is wondering if they will keep their words," I added.
"If you know what you want, then you shouldn't have to worry about that." I didn't get what he was saying, "Babe, you're gonna have to explain that to me," I laughed.
"Well, if you know what you want, then when you come to those temptations, you remind yourself what you want in life, and you never know, being in the wrong place at the wrong time can really ruin your life."
"Oh okay. I see what you're saying now."
"Good. Remember that too, okay?"
"Okay. So, I'm glad we're in the same spot in life," I said.
