Eryx.
As I stood there, gazing at Adeline's awestruck face, I felt my heart swell with emotion. The soft music and the soulful voice of John Legend filled the air, and Addie's eyes sparkled with delight. The song "All of Me" seemed to capture the essence of our relationship, and I knew I'd made the right choice.
The first line of the song drifted through the night air:
"What would I do without your smart mouth?"
Addie turned to me, a radiant smile spreading across her face. Our eyes met, and I felt a rush of love and adoration for this incredible woman.
As the second line played,
"Drawing me in, and you kicking me out,"
Addie's eyebrows shot up, and she asked, "Seriously?" Her gaze swept around the romantic setup, taking in the twinkling lights, the floating flowers, and the heart-shaped rose petals with the apology message. A soft "wow" escaped her lips, and she turned back to face the river, her back to me.
The song continued,
"My head's under water, But I'm breathing fine, You're crazy and I'm out of my mind."
I couldn't help but chuckle at the lyrics, knowing that Addie often drove me crazy – in the best possible way.
As the music swelled, I walked towards her, my heart pounding with excitement. I stood right behind her, my hands reaching out to touch her arms. My fingers brushed against her skin, sending shivers down my spine.
I leaned in close, my lips inches from her ear, and whispered, "And my point is..." The main lines of the song began, and I took a deep breath, ready to pour my heart out to the love of my life.
I sang along with John Legend, my voice filled with emotion, as I stepped back and gazed into Addie's eyes. "Cause all of me loves all of you..." She turned to face me, a radiant smile spreading across her face.
As I continued singing, "Love your curves and all your edges, all your perfect imperfections," I smiled, feeling my heart overflow with love for her. I reached out and took her hand, my fingers intertwining with hers.
"Eryx..." she started to say, but I kept singing, my voice pouring out my soul. "Give your all to me, I'll give my all to you..." Our eyes locked, and I could see the emotions swirling in hers.
I pulled her closer, our bodies swaying to the music. "You're my end and my beginning, even when I lose, I'm winning," I sang, my voice barely above a whisper. We stood there, our faces inches apart, the music wrapping around us like a warm embrace.
As I finished singing, Addie's hands came up to cup my cheeks, her eyes shining with unshed tears. "Sweet God," she whispered, pressing her forehead to my chest.
I smiled, feeling a sense of relief and joy. "Was that that bad?" I asked, trying to sound nonchalant.
Addie quickly looked up, her eyes sparkling. "No!" she exclaimed. "It wasn't... it was..." She took a deep breath, her voice trembling. "It was beautiful."
I smiled, feeling my heart soar. Addie's eyes welled up with tears, and she smiled back at me, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm sorry."
I frowned, confused. "For what?" I asked.
Addie shrugged, her smile still plastered on her face. "I don't know... just take it," she said, her eyes shining with tears.
As I wrapped my arms around Addie's waist, she gazed up at me with sparkling eyes. "Come here, Big boy!" she teased, standing on her tiptoes and wrapping her hands around my neck. I hugged her back, feeling her soft kiss on my neck send shivers down my spine.
