"Bye Daddy. Bye Mommy." I called after rushing through the door, not waiting for an answer. I did manage to catch a small mumble of a bye from both parents. I had told Nolan that I carpooled with Lana so he didn't have to come and get me. After a long debate and sexy threats that I wouldn't give in to, he agreed hesitantly.

"Hey, Gor-" Lana started as I hopped in the car. I didn't think she would react to my recovery of a look like that. "What happened at that camping trip?" She asked. I giggled and she went along with it. I told her the story of how I was beginning to re-discover myself again and that I need to stop Victoria from bringing me down. And I also mentioned the Nolan and Chase parts, along with my new friend Carrie.

"I support you one hundred percent as long as you pay for the pizza tonight." She said. It was Monday and movie night. I let out a hearty laugh as she gave me a blank look.

"I'm serious. I'm broke." She said, letting her beautiful laughter fill the car.

"Get a job, ya nitwit." I say.

"Oh you mean at the diner like some people." She nudged me in the ribs, swerving the car a bit.

"Focus on the road before you get us killed and yes. Why not? We could be co-workers." I snorted unattractively.

"Okay, what percentage do you think the possibility of me working at the diner with you is?" She snorted right back.

"Interviews start at seven." I say and she didn't respond. I knew she was actually considering it, judging by her sudden quietness. We pulled in a parking space and jumped out of the car. All eyes were trailed on me and Lana yet again and I felt uneasy, knowing it was because of me this time. We walked into the school and Tyler, our class president walked up to us. He had jet black hair and gray eyes which made him look adorable but he sort of hid his features with a huge pair of glasses and geeky clothes that his mom surely picked out for him. I wondered what he would possibly want with me or Lana.

"Yo, Kat. Wanna go catch a movie with me tonight?" he asked, his chick-magnet grin stretched across his face. Did he just... I looked up to Lana and her face could not contain the amount of excitement I knew she had. Holy skittles and rice, what?! No one has ever voluntarily talked to me since the incident in freshman year much less ask me out.

"Uhm.." I was a bit awkward. I wanted to say no because I already planned movie night with Lana tonight AND I'm pretty sure he meant as a date, which is a definite no-no. If Nolan found out about this, he would surely rip this guy's throat out.

"She can't. We already planned movie night tonight. And, she has a boyfriend." Lana had sunk her nails deep into my arm out of excitement. He nodded and walked away without the big grin he approached us with.

"I told you guys liked you. They were just afraid to say anything."

"So what made them say something now?" I asked her.

"Because your beauty and personality is popping, finally. And you are fierce and freaking hot. People are just realizing you for who you are." Lana explained. I nodded, soaking in her truth.

"So who the hell do you think you are now?" Victoria asked. I felt a rush of anger that flooded over my fear.

"A human being." I say and she looked taken aback.

"Excuse me?" She tried to let the fact that I spoke back to her seep in. Her face contorted into one of pure evil and I knew that she wasn't going to let this slide. I stepped back as she gained on me. People's eyes were trained on us, waiting for Victoria to strike again. "Don't you dare ever think you are more important than me." She raised her hand to smack me and I shut my eyes, bracing for the impact. And bracing. And bracing.. When I opened my eyes, I realized that her wrist writhed in the clasp of Nolan. I let out a deep sigh in relief.

"Don't you dare ever think you are more important than her." Nolan fired daggers at her with his eyes and dropped her hand roughly. Everyone was gasping at the scene. Knowing Westclear High School, by the time we get to class, the whole school will know about this, discuss it and inquire things they don't know one hundred percent about it. Nolan turned around to meet my eyes and scanned me in approval.

"Are you okay?" He asked. I nodded and he nodded as a confirmation. Lana, Nolan and I walked off and of course Chase, Carrie and Maddi joined us in walking the same direction. These people were helping me. And they're what true friends are. We split up at the end of the hallway, going to our classes.

I walk through the hallway with my head in my journal as I bumped into someone. Jeremy Holland from my English class, in specific.

"Oh, hey there Kat." He said.

"Errm, hi." I said, still not used to people talking to me so freely and checking me out so vaguely.

"Still shy, I see. I like shy." He winked and suddenly I felt a rush of confidence. Seriously with the flirts today, God...

"And I like my boyfriend." I pat his shoulder before going to the right of him but he stepped to the right as well.

"Boyfriend? Nolan Mathews?" He asked curiously. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to let that information out so I was beyond happy when a strong arm wrapped around my waist and a husky voice I recognized as the bad boy I'm falling so madly for said,

"Yes, Nolan Mathews." I heard the anger in his voice. Jeremy nodded and walked away when Nolan turned me to face him.

"You know, to me it seems like someone is... jealous." I say, smirking smugly at him.

"Am not." He replied.

"Are too." I stuck my tongue out at him and he gripped my waist tighter, causing me to gasp as he pulled me closer to him.

"Don't argue with me Kat."

"You can't make me stop." I said, pushing myself out of his strong grasp somehow and making my way to the cafeteria. I walked in and made my way to my now, extended table. Maddi and Carrie were chatting away and Lana and Chase were in line for lunch. I sat down at the table and dropped my bag on the floor next to me gently. My laptop was in there. I pulled out a salad and a cupcake along with a bottle of water.

"Well, someone's balancing out their meal." Carrie said, eyeing my cupcake. I pulled the beauty back toward me and gobbled down my salad as Nolan, Chase and Lana came to sit down. Nolan and Lana pulled out the chair next to me at the same time and they looked at each other.

"Uh-oh." Carrie giggled.

"I always sit with my best friend and I will not give up my spot for you Mr. Chihuahua." Nolan looked puzzled and Lana and I burst out laughing. The group stared at us like we were weirdoes, which they were totally right to think.

"Okay." Nolan held up his hands in mock surrender and took a seat on my left instead. I pulled my cupcake up to my face and got ready to bite into it when it got snatched completely in half. Lana gobbled up a half while Nolan did the other. I pouted and everyone laughed at the three of us.

"I'm sitting next to Maddi tomorrow." I mumbled.

"That wont stop us from going after your marvelous cupcakes." Nolan smirked.

"Yeah and that wont stop me from scratching out your marvelous eyes." I say, noticing that was a kind of compliment.

"Oh thank you. I know my eyes are marvelous." He batted his lashes and I laughed. Carrie and Chase were having what seemed to be a very sexual conversation due to the intense blush on Carrie's cheeks. Maddi made a nice conversation with Nolan so Lana and I started arguing about pizza and the type of movie we would watch tonight.

"Ooh, a movie night. Sure, I can make it." Maddi invited herself. And everyone started inviting themselves until I was all of a sudden responsible for a whole table of uncontrollable teenagers. Oh boy. Tonight was going to be... something.
