"You ATE ALL THE PIZZA?!" Carrie yelled. Maddi, Lana and I nodded casually.
"You guys took too long." I spoke up. Chase and Nolan smirked knowingly. I felt as if they had some kind of twin connection, as if they both had the same idea of why Chase and Carrie were late.
"You could have left SOMETHING for us." Carrie demanded, angrily.
"Well, we thought you would have already eaten." Lana snickered, moving her fist up and down over her open mouth. I gasped at her and nudged her in the stomach with my elbow.
"Lana." I reprimand. Everyone laughed, including the accused couple. "Don't mind her. She's just in desperate need of vitamin education." I say and Lana laughs.
"So those are the types of conversations you teenagers have these days, huh?" My mom walks through the door of the kitchen and into the living room with about twenty cupcakes. Jackson trailed behind her with excitement in his eyes and pokémon cards in his hands. All our eyes trail from my mom to the cupcakes and stay there.
"If we say no, will we be able to devour those heavenly temptations?" Lana asked. We all looked at her like she was crazy for speaking up. My mom laughed and set the cupcakes down on the coffee table. Big mistake, mother. It didn't take long for us to dive into them, leaving my mom bewildered.
"I'm sorry mom, your cupcakes are just too good." I say, with way too many hand motions, causing my cupcake to fall to the ground. Jackson laughs and runs up the stairs with two cupcakes in his hands to continue playing pokémon with his best friend, Cory, who had come over earlier to play with him. I pouted and went into the kitchen to grab a napkin to clean up my mess. Strong arms scooped me off the ground and my first thought was Daddy.
"Daddy!" I yelled, giggling. He placed me down and started tickling me. I laughed so hard that the sound had quit coming out and in the silent struggle for air, I heard clicking. The only clicking noise that could be made from photos being taken on cell phones. Yup, I opened my eyes for a brief second to notice the squad holding their phones up and taking pictures of me lying on the floor being tickled by my dad. They were belting out laughter like madmen. Then I heard a voice I recognized as Chase's speak out of the laughter.
"Man, If I knew this was how the bad girl acted at home, I would have never thought you were the same person."
"Same." Carrie agreed. I managed to get up and introduce my Dad to my friends.
"Wow hunny, you made new friends. I always knew you could." Dad said in a sarcastic tone, then proceeded to mess up my hair. That's when the group laughed harder. I don't understand how after only five minutes in my house, my friends like my parents more than me. Hmph.
"Go away Dad, you're embarrassing me." I mock the common spoiled teenage girls that they show on t.v all the time. He grinned at me and my friends and left us with a wave.
"You're family is amazing, Kat." Carrie looped arms with me. I smiled and we walked outside my back door to my pool and back yard.
"Okay, you in for a prank on the guys?" She whispered with a girly giggle. I nodded intently, listening to her suggestions. She whispered in my ear the plan and I nodded, giggling because I knew this would surely get the boys mad but it sure as heck would be funny. I was going to add another idea to her plan when a pair of strong arms wrapped around my waist. I was immediately hushed when a pair of perfect lips came into contact with my jaw.
"Okay, no time for that now, help me bring out some chairs." Lana pulled on Nolan's shirt. He winced as her manicured nails came into contact with his ear and she pulled him away. I couldn't help but laugh at him struggling under her fingers.
