"Okay, you can open your eyes now," Keefe whispered against the shell of my ear, making me shiver.

I leaned backwards into his chest as he lifted the hand covering my eyes. It was our two-year wedding anniversary, and Keefe had insisted on planning a surprise.

As I opened my eyes, I was immediately blinded by the lights.

"Wha-" I started before it morphed into a gasp. Those weren't just any lights.

"I know you have some bad memories here, but I wanted to help you make some better ones," Keefe said gently, turning me to face him with a shy smile.

"Keefe," I began, in awe of the structure now behind me. Well, that and him

"Just say the word and we'll go somewhere else."

"No, no. I don't want to go anywhere else. This is perfect."

Keefe let out a sigh of relief. "Okay, good."

"I just- I can't believe you brought me to Paris," I breathed out, laughing. "How did you even get a crystal?"

Keefe's smile turned smug. "I have my ways," he said flippantly.

I laughed incredulously. Only Keefe

I glanced back over my shoulder at the Eiffel Tower once more. Sure, Keefe was right in saying I had less-than-pleasant memories in Paris, but I was more than willing to let Keefe erase them with new ones.

As I turned back towards Keefe, I noticed that his expression had turned timid again.

"I reserved a table at one of the restaurants inside. Is that okay?"

At his tone, I couldn't help but melt. He wanted this to be perfect for me.

"I don't deserve you," I said in reply, wrapping my arms around him and nuzzling my face in his neck. Keefe made a surprised sound before returning the embrace.

"If anything, I'm the one who doesn't deserve you. The best I can do to return the favor is to make you happy for the rest of our lives," Keefe breathed into my hair and my heart burst for this sweet, amazing man that I couldn't imagine loving more than I already did.

"Well, if you want to make me happy, I am feeling hungry," I said casually, a small smirk making its way onto my face.

Keefe just smiled at me lovingly and took my hand firmly in his before leading me towards the tower before us.
